when i set up fl studio 5 as a rewire client with cubase vst 32 5.1 it works fine but i lose all my VST instruments. i get the message, "no more mixer channels". anyone have any ideas what is going on.

The "no more mixer channels" bug is a limitation of VST 5.x that was never fixed, it can only have a certain number of virtual mixer channels (from VSTi or ReWire). I think they hardcoded the maximum number, not realising that many ReWire applications (with many channels) may be installed in future.
The problem also arises even when the ReWire channels are not active, and many VSTi with multiple outs are used. (The installed ReWire channels subtract from the maximum mixer channels in this situation, so opening existing song files can trigger the error, save the song under a different file name when you encounter this error or the song could be corrupted.)
The only solution is to unregister those ReWire channels from the ReWire Synth application (ReWire client app) there should be an option to unregister ReWire in the FLStudio start menu folder, or uninstall the app. Some ReWire synth applications have an option to customise the number of ReWire channels, so check if that is possible.

ive done some research into this and found all sorts of posts with the same question as mine but no answer includind some of the offical forums. guess ill just stick with the vst version of flstudio.
