Ever wonder why?

Because boys like her and they want to be like Britney.....duh!
Actually, none of the young boys that I know (nephews, friends kids and so on) like such music at all.

Young boys seem to go after metal, rap, or some combination of the two like (shudder) Linkin Park.

In any case, I would say the little girls are more relating to the "really wealthy, skinny and famous" aspects of the Brittny phenomenon, rather than what any boys might think.

Oh and Alicia Keys doesn't?
Shakira doesn't?
Missy Elliot doesn't?

come on....

This woman is definitely not a star in Croatia. I've lived there all my life, and I've never heard of her. Actually , it was KVR that informed me of her existence -- today:) :D
And I'd like to add that there's no ANY stars in Croatia at all. Music here is non exsisting for me.This is just a shitty place full of shitty people, you can't find a normal job... etc. etc. IT IS FULL OF SHIT!

and I'm a Croatian. not proud of it at all.

I've been to Taiwan and it was faaar better, I'm moving to Netherlands and I won't spare a shit for Croatia.

A few things that are nice in Croatia: the coast, sea and nature in general, food is good but if you're a vegetarian everyone will make fun of you and think you're some kind of pervert, wine is also good and nothing else. You can forget about fun here, everything is closed after 23:00 and a few of disco bars that work are so full of shit and native music... Girls are nice but utterly stupid and worth just a one night stand. They just want your money or to marry and just get the hell out of here. Everybody is also just trying to rip you off as much as they can. Church has it's greedy-pedo-stinky hands way too deep into our politics, too. We're lagging a few centuries behind the world... except for sports, which won't make our lives here any better.

This whole place, along with all other former Yugoslavian republics aren't worth a rat's fart!

Schicophrenic? You bet I am, my freakin homeland made me one. I also bet that Australian guy read it right. We must be one of the most schico-countries in the world.

Very, very, very funny thread :hihi:.

Cheers! Now, you can all understand my signature better . Those words are Marylin Manson's lyrics and they suit me so well...

my parents met in Croatia! so it's a wonderful place. she was a lovely young Austrian, he was a slightly older tall man from Switzerland. one sweat night, they met on a terrace near the beaches. it was the coup de foudre. they got married and i'm born some months later...

ah! Croatia! little cradle of love! :harp:

I think the photo with Bones' head is quite an improvement upon the original, esthetically...

If you're a foreigner on a vacation... it can definitely be. Especially if you meet someone who's also a foreigner. I like our coast and sea very, very, much and it's absolutely gorgeous, although a bit expensive in comparison to Spain, Greece, Tunis...

So DuX, shall I better abandon my plans on making a fortune there?
There are 3 kinds of people:
Those who can do maths and those who can't.

Actually, it's not THAT bad, you're exaggerating a bit. People will draw wrong conclusions from what you're saying, and that's bad. The problem is that it is a small country, 4 million people, so there aren't as many business opportunities (especially musicwise) as there are in the States or in the UK, for example. It's true, also, that there are far too many "hillbillies" or "rednecks", or what would you call it, who listen to crappy quasy-folk-kitsch-balkan type crap music -and that's bad.

However, there are 2 or 3 real stars in Croatia and a few of them who only appear to be stars.
One of the former, a great Croatian singer songwriter Gibonni is in the studio these days , working on his new record, which will feature such musicians as Manu Katche, Tommy Emmanuel, Vlatko Stefanovski, etc. ---- and he is Croatian.

These pictures are hillarious, though!
The fact that a woman can play an instrument, and you cannot makes you frustrated, doesn't it? :D
You got me!!! :-o

He-he, I left Greece for Holland last year. There must be something wrong with the Balkans. Maybe the water. I dunno. I won't go back. :|

Are you kidding? :hihi: :hihi: :hihi:

Actually, you can make a fortune here... if you're into organised crime or politics, or you can buy a wasted factory for a few euros and sell it for more :hihi: and sack all the employees and sell the machinery/equipment, like many of organised pricks here do for more than a decade now. OTOH, if you plan on making a fortune with music, better stay where you are . Look at me - I'm currently collecting some money working on black market, doing everything connected to music/techie stuff, mastering, mixing, computer maintenance... A few days ago I made a 100 Euros by converting and recording old Atari disks with Cubase arrangements onto PC CD-ROM, so they could be used in Cubase\Nuendo. That's how you make money here. I have to know everything, and I pretty much do, as I'm into computer music for quite a long time.

Cheers Sascha! I like your posts.

Man.... I like Techno/Industrial music, Ambient music and such... never heard of a few you mentioned, although I've heard of Gibboni and he can blow my... well :D rather not, I'm straight :D . I've just never dig our native musicians except for Laibach and Borghesia. Sorry. I'm just like that. Alternative all the way . My parents also never listened to our native music, never, and I thank them from the bottom of my heart that I was raised on the likes of Elvis Presley, Beatles, Paul Anka, The Doors, Rolling Stones, ABBA, Pink Floyd...so I was raised a cosmopolite, but my personal choice is Euro-music, mostly, except for some Canadian and Californian guys like Skinny Puppy, Clock DVA, Front Line Assembly... for me it would be a blasphemy to compare such great bands to Gibboni or whatever.

OTOH, I was a bit harsh on a few points, and I appologise for that, but really just a bit . BTW, I'm sick and have a flu although it's summer, got it from my girlfriend and I'm nervous as hell, that could be the possible explanation of my behavour, too :D

You seem to be a good thinking guy Davor [that's my real name also, but many people call me Dave, Taiwan habbit]. Where are you from?

and of course,

Cheeers!

Cheers.
