You know, I often wonder when these threads come up how many people who ask about this actually DO IT. Do you think anybody actually uses it when they ask about it?

More importantly, *WHY* would you want to sound like that?

At least this thread acknowledges it is a Vocoder effect, not an Autotune effect. I believe (do you believe?) that it was an Autotune abuse that inspired Cher to want that type of effect, which is why she says it was Autotune. But the guy who actually made it happen knows he used the Digitech and the Nord.

As for recreating the effect -
Melodyne (from celemony) has the ability, flexibility and price to match
http://www.celemony.com/cms/index.php?id=cre8studio0
The demo will allow you to try it out. You can always 'record what u hear' from your soundcard from the demo if you only need to do this once.

Carb.

I dont no why you want to do this fx but if someone wants to do it, and I can guess a way to do it, then I will let them know...

Melodyne is an autotune effect. So no, it will get close (like the sound that would have inspired Cher to say let's do it). But you need a synth and a vocoder to recreate the effect properly.

I own it, it is capable of sounding very very close. It can do things other auto-tuners can't.greendoor wrote:Melodyne is an autotune effect.
