I use Classic EQ constantly. Am I missing out? I just tried the Blue EQ. That's a keeper.

For more info, read my review and find why GEQ can't (or won't) call itself a Pultec.

To echo this, GEQ specialises in low end cut off - it has a whole department store dedicated to just this.Kjaerhus GEQ. Insanely big and tight low end, and just sweet all across the board.

Another less than helpful reply but I rely soley on the effects that ship with ORION. I use the 4-band Mixer Strip EQ for most things and I use the Low Cut Filter to keep my basslines from interfering with my kicks. Having EQ right there for every channel is really important to me, I couldn't imagine the mess of having a dozen instances of the same plug-in floating around.

I found the Classic review, but the EQ wasn't in it. I guess it's got to be good too. I like it.

Another vote for Sonalksis.
I wouldn't switch from this to Hydratone for two reasons:
- it's lighter on the cpu
- it has way better low cut filters (Hydratone's are almost a joke).
And it sounds really good.

i like my trusty crayola eq.
i place crayons in my ears. when i need bass roll off, i push the yellow crayon in a little deeper. when i need high end attentuation, i change to the green one, wrap it up with a cotton ball and hammer it in, just up to where the paper starts. mids get the powder blue with the paper label torn off, jammed just inside the left nostril.
sometimes, i melt colors together for the more experimental projects.
i really like the ui, the ease of use is incredible.
i really like the way this eq colors my sound.
nah! i use waves plugins with cubase and tracktion. nothing else. they're great. i don't have to spend my days searching for better plugins. i just got the real thing and im actually working, and not trawling.
it's worth it. go get 'em. end your suffering. and besides, you won't have to spend your days in the forums yakkin about which ones are better for what jobs... just get waves and get to work.

if you can afford them, yeah.lharless wrote: nah! i use waves plugins with cubase and tracktion. nothing else. they're great. i don't have to spend my days searching for better plugins. i just got the real thing and im actually working, and not trawling.

but if you don't have hundreds of euros / dollars for plugins, you have to look out for something else i guess.
besides the Classic EQ i use the freeware eq NWEQ.
NWEQ works just great for me, the results i get on my vocals are unbeatable. I just use the "vocal Preset 1" and my vocals sound crystal clear and transparent - just great sound. the CPU usage is a bit high, but there's a thread in the effects forum where they tell you how can work that out.

You know ... there was some talk of this a couple of years ago ... hushed tones and all.parisEQ
