I've recently added some new Oberheim OB8 sounds for free download at the site. Modest downloads - big sounds!

http://www.hollowsun.com/vintage/index.html

Enjoy.

If anyone wants to do some patches for other sampler formats, let me have 'em and I'll make 'em available.

Cheers

Any chance that those of us who didn't wholly participate in the earlier free download orgy could get access to all those samples again, either as a bonus for a CD-ROM purchase, or by purchasing the library itself, or perhaps some other download method akin to esoundz, or even a low cost subscription?
Um....

Well ... it was up there for four years. I have also been bundling it with my other CDs for the last couple of months and it's been available to buy for a nominal fee for a couple of months as well - I think you've had plenty of opportunity to get the stuff in one way or another ;)

It will, however, be available very soon in a new virtual sound module from leading UK soundware distributor/manufacturer, Zero-G, in a product called 'Notsalgia' which, as well as containing an augmented sample set also comes with a Kompakt player.

I've added another sound today - Space String - a gorgeous, lush pad sound with a curious vocal/string quality reminiscent of the Polymoog's Vox Humana preset used by Gary Numan on 'Cars'.

That's great news, isn't it?

btw. I tried to do an automatic conversion to Wusik format, but that didn't work out. Each wav turns into a wusik soundset of 4 times the size... I'll have another try, but I'm not a good enough sound designer to do a manual conversion.

Yes... you can listen to Nostalgia at:

You can read more at Zero-G's site:

Hmmmmm... dunno. Not familiar with Wusik.

If you are referring to the latest batch of freeby downloads, they're simple enough to map out. Each program has four samples on G - map 'em out on G and adjust span from Cn-Bn (or preferably with some overlap and keygroup crossfade if your sampler allows it) and then go wild with the synth functions.

Cheers on that deal, Steve. Wish you great success with it - you certainly deserve it.

:? :( This is sad news :(
I was going to buy the cd with all the samples, but I will never, NEVER buy C/R software, like the Kompakt player :x

Yes I noticed the mapping. But you created 4 different sounds with the same samples... I was hoping to preserve the settings, I´ll look into it when I have more time. btw one of the reasons that Wusik takes more space is that all the sounds are converted to 32bit.

Anyway it´s not really important, I can play them anyway with VSampler. Thanks for the samples.

HansM, the settings most likely won't be converted properly anyways. I still have to see a program or sampler importing/converting 3rd party formats fine. Mappings and amp envelopes usually are all you can expect to be converted properly. Most other things will get lost partially (filter settings) or entirely (mainly modulations).
