you know that, right.
But without some sort of mass migration to sanity, how would you propose to turn it off?

Of course that is also completely assuming that using music for the specific mode of communication that you are referenceing is a universal motivator.

Much like belief systems, music must always accomodate the lowest common denominator... or even the hobbyist who was particularly struck by a melody inserted in the brain by constant repetition via mass media...

it's not like you have to invent facts.. "how would you propose to turn it off.."

and.. it's not like you have to invent facts about the charcter of anima (by which i mean 'perception vector;' not some kooky in-word interp.)

anima recognises..
you come and go, you come and go. amitabha neither a follower nor a leader be tagore "where roads are made i lose my way" where there is certainty, consideration is absent.

Well, what do you expect?

Most people are asleep most of the time - they go about their days at work and at play fast asleep. Every now and then one comes round and sees things how they are and they reach straight for the Prozac.

Depression is anger without enthusiasm; and they nip it in the bud before they get creative.
eh?

fwiw, w/o explanation of it's devisement.. dereferential methodology.

referentialism exports authority... it is quite possible to live and prosper w/o an artificial convention.

ever interacted with nonhomogenous culture? become accustomed to the method.

i realise it's so hard :)

Glad you do realise the whole problem with this thread in the first place. We can only praise you for that and hope the realisation sticks.

I disagree. I hate anger. Angry people lose my respect. Anger is usually ignorance or impatiance.

Of coarse there are exceptions (like if someone breaks into your house and murders your family, etc.), but I mean most of the time.

Music is such a bloodless art, I don't think it has ever reflected anger very well.

Most people I know are angry about something, mostly halfassedly so. Anger seems easy to come by, I wish people would learn to make do better, go without more, and abstain from participating/contributing in the shit. So much shit around, one simple action so often feeds into the greater scheme of shit, I don't know how to make it better. Wish I did, but I don't.

I bitch a lot about a lot of things. I'm recognized by most of my acquaintnaces as a guy who bitches about stuff (you're so negative). Most people don't want to listen to that sort of thing. If I try to elicit understanding of the things I'm bitching about, most people listen and see where I'm coming from, but it rarely alters their positions.

i like a lot of this steve actually ... but anger CAN be positive if its justified (i hesitate to use the word righteous for obvious reasons) and the rage focussed on putting something right ...

... YMMV ...

Not sure if you know Leanard Cohen as an example. Listen to Famous Blue raincoat. Anger without being violent. Wittfully angry. More direct, many Dylan lyrics (masters of war etc) was written from pure anger. Arlo Guthry - Joan Biaz being another hero.

The big difference is that these people were angry. They did something. They stopped the war. They canged the perception of people. Anger is good if turned into positive action.
