The production is over the top though (IMHO).
That kick drum sounds like 2 pieces of plywood slapping together.
Master of puppets is in my top three of all-time albums. I had a friend send me a copy two weeks before it came out, and it blew me away. It's the first album I ever learned how to play back to front including the solos. I saw them three times on that tour with Cliff, and they will always remain some of the best shows I've ever seen.

I was also surprised by how good the latest Kreator album is, some of it is even reminiscent of Reign in Blood era Slayer...
