I think trollish isn't fair, it's his way...we're all characters of some sort. I think he can be quite colorful, and perhaps he believes that tact means how you put the poster (pun intended "poster") on the wall...but I wouldn't call him a troll...a man with unique vision?...yes, that's why he bears listening too...JerGoertz wrote:I have been properly chastized.shamann wrote:If you look closely, I mean really close, you'll notice that despite the surface detail of calling you names, xoxos really is trying to speak to you as though you are worth saving.JerGoertz wrote:It all makes sense when you realize that "xoxos" is Sanskrit for "troll"![]()
It's shocking, I know, because you so clearly are not. I suppose it's not all martyrdom, as he surely wants to not see the world choked out, but since he's been so gracious as to not dismiss you outright, maybe we can overlook that one act of arrogance.![]()
On a somewhat more serious note, I've known of ol' Xoxer for just about as long as I've been here at KVR (going on what, 2 yrs) and his generosity towards others with his plugins on the one hand, yet his seemingly incongruous ranting and confrontational BS on the other. And to be quite honest, the only way I can describe his posting behavior on the forum is "trollish".
I just don't get it. xoxos, clearly you must realize that your abrasive style is going to get more people to hate you than to agree with you (whatever they may be "agreeing" with since you've never to my knowledge really come out and stated your position in clear English). Instead of someone truly trying to change the world & people's opinions, it strikes me as more of attention-seeking and chain-yanking, and I'm getting sick of it. If you're going to try to engage people in meaningful debate for change, then PLEASE do it a) without the namecalling and b) with some semblance of logical cohesiveness or even an intelligible thesis, so we AT LEAST know what we're arguing about. Otherwise it's just a bunch of heat and light and not much besides, apparently for your ego gratification because I can't see much else as the outcome.
Otherwise, I'm going to ignore you and would enourage others to do the same, to keep this kind of baiting dreck off the forums.

because it's an emergency.
i really dont understand how you really dont understand that everybody living in buildings isn't the reflection of a healthy culture.

The only thing it gets me thinking about it how much of a twit the guy's being and how he won't even give us one solid piece of actual debatable substance.

Go ahead then...xoxos wrote:if i make a condemning statement about culture describing an observed, verifiable uuh.. detriment and mechanic
You had a good start going there, but it quickly devolved into another content-void rant. "I am the messiah and you little pathetic shits better listen up!!!"
If you're really serious about changing people's opinions & behaviors you're going to have to engage them on topics of substance. I.e.:
1) Point out a specific behavior/dynamic that you think should change.
2) Convince people (using FACTS and LOGIC) that it should be changed.
3) Show them how to change.
Unless you can do these, then it's just useless ranting and I'm tuning you out...

Yes, this is what it's all about, ol' holier-than-thou, sanctimonious, preachy wankbag xoxos, putting us all in our place because he is not afraid to say something that will shock us and he (and only he) knows we can't handle it...because he is so far ahead of us, he is unafraid to acknowledge that which we are seemingly unaware of...xoxos wrote:...you can't take a scolding on it?...

And if we continue to refuse to acknowledge it, he will continue to throw a temper tantrum in the corner like a 5 year old spoiled baby who got pissed on by the class bully...it's only a matter of time until he throws himself on the ground and starts crying-wah wah wah...
Ah...what is that on the horizon? Yes, there he is...I see him now!
Ahoy, xoxos:

I am Xoxos-hear me WAH!!!!!

Okay, assuming that is true Cheeso, and I'm not saying it is, but it is true for you apparently. Can I ask you one thing? If that's how you feel...why would you care or even bother with his posts?

ok, I think I've found the problem. Well...not THE problem, but...
"you can think the f**k what you like about the public emergency broadcast, the public emergency broadcast doesnt give a f**k...."
[catch 22 alert! catch 22 alert!]
"...because it's an emergency."
also...
"everybody living in buildings isn't the reflection of a healthy culture"
no, it isn't. but everybody living in buildings isn't - in and of itself - the reflection of an unhealthy culture. DEPENDING of course on what you define as "buildings". But then "you would say that, wouldn't you, John?" (because I looooove what I do - I'd even do it for free!)
Anyway, after mild pruning, we have:
"this is a public emergency broadcast."
"it's not yelled...the output is clearly transcribed data."
"effective communication"
"there is consideration to disseminate, and you can't f**k around"
"we must instill urgency.. NOW, because...you can't...band-aid the ecology."
"so: what are my resources?"
"where are the people making sure a non-threatening, clear message gets...out?"
"YOU need to redact civilisation."
"it's an emergency"
how's that?

xoxos is like Nietzsche, that's all there is to it.
His style of argumentation is artistic, not mere matter of fact; his zeal is religious.
His rants are the body of Christ: swallow 'em, don't bite.
