No, it wouldn't.
Please elaborate... you're not even a Hamburger? Suffering from a Hangover maybe?

Yeah maybe.
Anyways, I like hamburgers. Not too sure about Britney, but probably it wouldn't matter.

Now they start to brag about our classical music. :bang:
Of course we have it, and it's excellent, I like it. Even our REAL native music is excellent, but don't confuse it with mindless music like turbo-folk or low-quality-mass-produced pop crap we get bombarded by through our TV and radio stations. Btw. did you know our radio stations are forbidden by our record companies to play anything else that's not been published by them? Our musicians have an association called HGU which is actually not very far from organised crime in my eyes...
We were talking about Belinda, Gibonni and such. I can hardly wait people's opinions, but it seems like Gibonni's site is down. How inconvenient. Anyway, I think it wouldn't be too fair to judge Croatian music by only one performer, and I must admit Gibonni is one of the best Croatian musicians there is, but it sucks anyway. others aren't even worth mentioning. This is all Euro-song-festival cheesy stuff he plays and nothing more, so if some of you regard him so high, your taste in music is no better than average sleep-in-eurosong-audience.

I can also bet, some of you listen to this turbo-folk stuff with great pleasure, too. yuck.... what in the name of cheesus are you doing here anyway?

Btw. Someone mentioned I'm not a musician? Why would I be coming here, then? I play keyboards and I sing since primary school and I've been into computer music almost since pre-Atari and Amiga times. I was a happy owner of an Atari comp along with piles of old syths like Roland Jupiter4,D20,D50, Casio CZ-1000, PPG Wave 2.3, Korg WavestationEX, Ensoniq, Akai samplers etc. for 10 years and then in 1997 I bought my first PC. I also had a band for years before the stupid war came, along with piles of shitty patriotic songs, so we just couldn't cut it, especially since we've sung in english, it used to be considered almost as a blasphemy at the time. Now I feel a bit too old for that, so I turned to mastering and production instead, and I'm very satisfied with that decision. Touring is for youngsters.

I must seriously re-consider my narrow-mindedness :dog:. By being a huge fan of Depeche Mode, Nine Inch Nails, Front Line Assembly, Leaether Strip, Jean Michel-Jarre, Sisters of Mercy, Marilyn Manson, Clock DVA, Ministry, Eurythmics, Front 242, Rammstein, U2, Laibach, Korn, AC/DC, Erasure, Nirvana, Prodigy, William Orbit, The Orb, Future Sound of London, Delerium... and also Mr. Bach, Beethoven, Wagner, Mozart... and this is like 1/20 of what I like plus all the demo stuff I really like and find on the net. So, I must be really, really narrow-minded and stop listening to that and rather listen to Gibonni, Bijelo Dugme, Dragojevica, Majke i Coloniu, they're far far better musically speaking, loooooots and looots of melodies [can you taste a deep deep dosage of sarcasm?]. To be open-minded like you are, I'd probably end up listening to music 48 hours a day, if I wanted to listen to all those bands.

Cheers!

Ever heard the "Time of the Gypsies" soundtrack? I love that "Ederlezi" traditional (in the "non-bombastic" version).

Dunno if Bulgaria is considered part of the Balkans, but "Le mystère des voix Bulgares" is a great record too.

Balkan music has a very rich tradition, with Byzantine, Turkish, Eastern European and jewish influences - can't be bad...
Yeah, Bulgaria is considered to be part of the Balkans. If you liked "Le mystère", I'd recommend you pick up Village Music Of Bulgaria, also on the Nonesuch label. It's more of a taste of the unpolished rural music that Koutev drew from to create the "Le mystère" series. I'm in love with traditional Balkan and eastern European folk music, but I absolutely detest the modern pop versions of it. Sure, I enjoy the Philip Koutev (Le mystère des voix Bulgares) and Stefan Dragostinov choir interpretations of the old folk melodies, but all of that turbo-folk/chalga nonsense is just dreadful to my ears. I've heard some of that stuff browsing through the "world music" section of record shops and online, and I really feel sorry for you people who've had an amazing folk music tradition dating back to the times of Orpheus, raped before your very eyes and turned into shitty mind-numbing club music. :dog:

Oh, that's rich.
I for one am not in denial. For what's worth, I'm actually ashamed about most of the things that happened here. And guesss what - I even dare to consider myself as a kind and gentle person. Is that alright by you? I mean, can I say that? Please? Sorry to rain on your "let's put everyone in their neatly labeled boxes so we don't have to think anymore" parade.

And speaking of "The nastiest in history" part - remember holocaust? Yet I don't see you calling german people nazis and racists because some sick german people commited unthinkable crimes in the past.

Come on people, we are smarter than this. There are sick and evil people everywhere. Not everything is black and white.

Yep, I, too consider -Ethno- music very inspirational. Ever heard of a band called "Mizar" or "Anastasia" from Macedonia? Great, great ethno bands! Ethno music can be of very high quality and sound so mystical and interesting...

Yea, but he's right for the most part. Most of the people here still live in 19th century and it doesn't really look like it's gonna change. Musicians and artists on the other hand are mostly pacifists and don't like politics. That's the biggest reason why I don't like it here... of course there are good people everywhere, but their numbers are somewhat low here... :D I mean in former Yugoslavia.
