Hovmod and Respirator - ta for the reviews and glad you liked the track...
although I'm in tears that respirator thinks this wouldnt get me a major label deal. I mean (say) Kissing the Pink got on Atlantic in the US didnt they? Or is it just (sob) cos I cant sing.

Be mean with me, I know your critical side is unfriendly to most, but not me.respirator wrote: Freeztar, Keep it Bumpin': Intriguing in an almost, but not quite scary way. Interesting thing going on, but it comes across as a bit incoherent. Nice track.
The incoherent comment is a bit puzzeling, could you elaborate please.
One of my friends who heard this said, "I don't like this". "Why", I asked, "Because there is too much going on".
Perhaps this is what you're getting at?

I am curious -- why is it that you don't like 'sampled drum sets'?respirator wrote: I really don't like sampled drum sets).
Ultimately, what's the difference between a real sampled drum and an audio recording of a drum?

I took your song and put it through a hipass intellectualizer, with gain set to about 11 and the rectum analyzer on medium. Then I set my bad conscience to freerun, and didn't edit or read the post before hitting send.
What? I wasn't close? You didn't want to make fun of idiotic pop music by doing it better but not giving a f**k?

I don't like drum sets. Period. They are a big limitation in the way we make and think music, IMHO. But a real drummer playing in a band has feeling etc. Programmed drums are boring. You can do so much interesting stuff with percussive elements when you're using a computer. Any and all sound can be used. Why anyone would want to use a sampled drum set is beyond me. All rules have exceptions....xander wrote:I am curious -- why is it that you don't like 'sampled drum sets'?respirator wrote: I really don't like sampled drum sets).

(I used a sampled drum set this month, I know, but I was being ironic).

I only asked because I get the impression that my shit is left field. I don't want to be incoherent (well, at least for this month
