Vintagey EQ

Hi guys,

Now, I know Blue Tubes don't command too much respect around here, and I have to say I generally agree, except for one case: it seems to do wonders thickening and focussing my synthesizers. This is probably partly the compressors I've been using from the BT demo pack, but I think the three EQ's do a good job on synth as well.

Problem is, it's $400 for the whole pack of 15 or 16 effects and I only mostly want the EQ.

What's your suggestions on another vintage style EQ that does a good job of coloring the sound?

Scratch Hydratone and '62 VT, I own the latter and have tried the former.

How about the UAD EQ's, which one is best for convincing and pleasant coloration?

Anything else?

I know about Sonalksis but have had no luck installing it on my computer (the installer does crazy things).

Kjaerhus GEQ-7 is a fabulous vintage style eq (including Pultec style).

try voxengo CurveEQ (my absolute favourite EQ) and HarmoniEQ and consider also Lampthruster (exciter+simple but effective eq)

Yes, I wish Nomad Factory would sell plugs individually. Some of the ones in the Essential Suite are really nice.I also like the Blue Tubes EQ's.
