Lounge piano songs

Hi,

A friend asked my help in compiling a list of lounge (solo piano) songs for his repertoire. And he'd like to avoid cheezy classics such as "feelings" So what do you guys think ? What would you suggest to build the ultimate "repertoire with attitude" ?

at a theatre i used to work at, we took it in turns to play piano for guests in the entry hall, so while we're talking more "musical theatre" and less "attitude" some of the tunes that went down well included:

as - stevie wonder
i wish - stevie wonder
famous blue raincoat - leonard cohen
happy phantom - tori amos
karma police - radiohead
