So I went swimming today, consequently I have a lot of water in my left ear that I can't get out (I have only tried inserting my little pinky finger and shaking vigorously so far). Any suggestions?

Everytime I move my head, I can hear the friggin ocean. It is really affecting my hearing; I almost can't hear high frequencies (using headphones) in my left ear at all!

No pain so far, so that's good.

:help:

go to the chemist/pharmacy and ask them for ear drops. You can get ones that are specifically designed to dry up watery ears after swimming.

Don't leave it too long or you'll get a nasty, painful infection. :-(

hmm, lay with your ear down towards the floor for a while? It may sound stupid but if it works it works.

hey I discovered something... when I burp, the sound really opens up, but just for the duration of the burp, like one second.

Turn your head with that ear facing down and wobble your head around. Your friends will thank you if you let them bring video cameras.

If vigorously shaking your head doesn't cut it, try jumping while tilting your blocked ear downwards. About the only thing that does it for me. Fortunately haven't had the need to resort to ear drops so far :)

Plus, like said earlier, it's good entertainment for anybody watching you... :D

A combination of No Name, Meffy and jmh's prescriptions worked. Aural sensitivity to high-frequency audio signals is now fully restored.

Yeah, it did look wierd dancing with my head tilted sideways to one of my favorite tarnce tracks. You can buy the video for as low as $49.99 with the group buy!
