I've been searching around, but I can't seem to come across any. Anybody know a site with some free ones? Also, amp IR's would work the same in SIR as reverb IR's correct?

Have you tried www.noisevault.com ?
I believe they have several impulses of amps, speaker cabinets, etc.

Beamsonic had some good free ones. Not sure if they are available now though.
Intel Core i7 8700K, 16gb, Windows 10 Pro, Focusrite Scarlet 6i6

I wasn't very sure on what they did, but that is why I wanted to try them, to see what they do and what they sound like. What exactly are the purposes for them then?Lunch Money wrote:If you're wanting it to act as a guitar amp emulation, it won't work the way you think it will. I'm sure some of them could still be useful for sound mangling, though.

I tried a few of the cabinet impulses, I can hear it doing something though I cannot quite put my finger on it. It sounds better with the cabinet IR on it though.

Ahhh, I just now realized after all this time since I posted this that I put this in instruments instead of effects, sorry!

Is the beamsonic page even up anymore? Does anyone know any other pages that carry cabinet impulse reponses?

Beamsonic no longer has his impulses on the internet. A couple people from noisevault.com are trying to contact him. Noisevault is willing to host the impulses, if Beamsonic is willing to give his permission for that.
As for recording raw guitar amp IRs, without a speaker and microphone being involved, this would accurately capture the frequency response curve of an amp, including any EQ controls on the amp, and if it's a guitar amp with reverb, it will capture the sound of the reverb. However, it will not capture any distortion or compressor/limiter effects of an amp.
