Hi,

just wanted to share this.

I was searching for an amp sim/exciter with more overdrive than Lampthruster, more in the direction of PSP Vintage Warmer (which I, however, find a bit expensive) and I was very happy to find Tube Booster through a kvr-search. This is imo a really great tube simulation and if you do not drive it too hard it can sound absolutely great (I tested it on vocal and they were shining, but you shloud play around with it not just judge by the presets). the best thing is: it's free.

you could also write a review for this plug.... I think freeware devs get far to less reviews for their stuff

so if you really like it take some minutes and write a review...

just an idea though

I like Wurr's stuff. I alread have their filter and reverb. The 'verb is good for subtle room ambience. Too mauch tail and it starts soundinlg like a stomp box, but at lesser settings it puts some nice air around things.

I made 4 basic presets for Tube Boster. You can doanload them from:

www.power-xs.net/download/TubeBoosterPresets.zip

They are meant to be used as send fx in a bus (so that the fy amount can be adjusted according to your taste) but they will work also great when using TB as an insert. for my taste the fx will be quite strong then, but I guess this is what anyway people might want...

I'd also like to jump aboard the Tube Booster Appreciation Express. I had no idea I need this plug in until I started using it; now everthing sounds dull and lifeless without it! What an excellent peice of code! And the GUI is so good, even *I* can understand it. These folks are to be commended.

Actually, "these folks" are just one guy - Patrick Wurr and yes, he did some very nice plug-ins. Be sure to check out GreenMachine.

I didn´t know it and YES, it´s fantastic.

Sometimes it works better 4 me than others tube sims... and Tube Booster made the magic that I needed with the vocals of my last song...

It creates a good midrange emphasis as well.

His filter ain't bad either. Check'er out.

Tube Booster is a really great tube sim, don't miss it
