Does any one know what synth this bass sound is from or how to get that sound? I love that juicy sound.

Love this type of bass sound. Reminds me of the old fairy bootin roller boogy days.

I love that sound too! I've also wondered how it is created exactly. it sounds like it is just a bunch of thin pulse waves that are unison detuned with a decaying LP filter envelope, but I can never get that oldschool cheesey vintage sound when I try to recreate it.

Here's what I made with Novakill's KarmaKILLER synth, but I still can't get the sound exactly. Maybe someone will enlighten us?

P.S. I loved when Aundre 3000's song "Hey Ya" had this bass in it!

I love Zapp/Roger Troutman! He was a real nice guy in person. He hung out lots in Dayton area music stores in the old days. I found a better link for the song, in case you can't play stuff from Amazon or Itunes. The link is an mp3 file...

zapp does kick ass, it was kinda a shame to see the life sampled out of zapp, funkadelic, and George Clinton 10 years ago.

one things is for sure to my ears is that its an octaved part...or it has a sub-oscillator(an octave down) following the bass line

try 2 saw detuned together or a sqr/pulse withg pwm and close the filter real low add slight rez...5%

turn on a 3rd osc(-12)

thrown in some mda subbass or psps mixbass and you should be in business
