I've been working on a chorus plugin, and though it's not really finished yet, I decided to give this a try:
McChorus1.mp3
McChorus2.mp3
I'm looking forward to hearing what people think.
thanks,
McLilith

Not sure what C is, but it is very similar to A. I like it a bit better than A as it is a slightly more muted sound.
I like Alexey's that he posted. McLilith's is interesting, as there is a rough edge to the sound.
The first Classic example is maybe a bit bright, but sounded better with the reverb. AKJ's example sounds better to my ears.

"A" is very dark and "B" more Clear, C is very different from the two. To those who love the dark vintage sound I can happily announce that the next version of GMO-1 will have a high cut so you can dial it into the amount of vintage darkness / fatness or modern crispiness you want

Hey Torben, do you like immediately recognize your plug.Torben wrote:"A" is very dark and "B" more Clear, C is very different from the two. Which one to use would depend on allot of other things. I hope I didn't do injustice to the GMO-1.
It is still my favorite Chorus.
Both B and C are GMO-1

It is a very impressive plugin.AndrewSimon wrote:Both B and C are GMO-1
On my earbuds, both A and C sounded similar, which admittedly is not the best way to test. Will have to try again later on proper speakers. One thing about all the examples was that there was enough difference in all of them to suggest that each might be desirable depending on the sound you're after. Options = good.

I could recognise the high end missing in the wet signal of the A sound which indicates it was the old CE-2 which due to a very low sample rate did not go very high. The GMO-1 is not limited in the high end, before the next version with has a variable filter. And I do not think you did any injustice, the GMO-1 are more versatile than the CE-2 and you did not try to make them sound alike, so the vote was more like for too different sounds than two different Choruses (and bare in mind that the GMO-1 are much more than a Chorus).AndrewSimon wrote: Hey Torben, do you like immediately recognize your plug.

Great to hear of an update for GMO-1. Could I ask for a high pass as well as a low pass? That would make it possible to use on bass, as well as getting warm analog sounds. The degredation algorithms from Classic Delay would be very welcome too (Analog,Tape & Digital). What would make it really mind-blowing would be the option for through-zero flanging (where the wet sound modulates from a pre-delay to an after-delay). That would obviously not be a zero latency effect - but who cares? Something that irks me about GMO-1 when using it as a tremolo is that the delay can't be set to zero. And when setting delays manually, I can't set them to the nearest millisecond. Apart from that, GMO-1 would be my favorite modulated delay too. Another feature I would love to see in a mod delay is a Random mod pattern, to emulate the quirks of early tape modulation experiments where the tapes slipped around a bit.

Right then...I'll have a go.
I used Andrew's totally dry guitar and worked this up. A fat, lush Chris Issac-ish ambient vibe.
By the by, the chorus used is...

The new version is ready for release. I used one of two reserved parameters for the Hi-Cut filter, that's the only way it can be made 100% compatible with the parent version without sounding different on the projects that already uses it. There is one more reserved parameter left and it could be used for the Low-Cut but I can not find space for it on the GUI without a major redesign.greendoor wrote:Great to hear of an update for GMO-1. My verdict.
A. Nice steady sound image, with mellow wide chorus.
B. Metallic high end a bit thin in the low mid, the sound image moves around a lot. Seems like some panning is going on.
C. Sounds rather nice, but also like there is a soft tremolo on top. The volume goes up in some kind of waves.
Sounds a bit like A + B = C
