You think that's funny? The city I come from which is now smaller than Cardiff has a Chinatown consisting of ONE building...Glooper wrote:we have a chinatown in cardiff...

There's a weeny little 'White People's Town' (Lao Wei Town) where we all live comfortably enough. We have all the typical ethnic representations too -- like an authentic Bangers & Mash palace, traditional-style pub wif a John Bull in the front an a real bowling green where the people can come and look at us on Sundays.whyterabbyt wrote:Is there a Chinatown in, say, Beijing?
Or perhaps a 'Britaintown' ?
I don't know about China but in Thailand the US Soldiers on holiday from killing Vietnamese peasants carved out a little enclave called Pattaya City. Today it is almost exclusively visited Europeans and lived in by European ex-pats....xander wrote:whyterabbyt wrote:Is there a Chinatown in, say, Beijing?

I'm sorry but my english level can´t reach the fine irony that's suppossed to be on your post.emdot_ambient wrote: Diek -- Undercover: I hear that first sound in some Goa song someplace. I think it is in India.

I would like to think that I've misunderstood you.
Respect!
