Hi there,

Just got this

http://www.focaleasyguidetocakewalksonar.com/

This book is great, lots of colour pictures and diagrams. Suit beginner and more experienced user.

The author used to be the main demo guy for Cakewalk here in the UK and has written for Computer Music and Future music doing reviews and the Sonar teaching pieces in both mags.

He is a really nice guy too if you bump into on various forums.

Nice addition to the manual you get with the software.

Cheers,
aaron.
I found the answer, only to realise I had forgotten the question ..

I'm surprised noone jumped on this guy for being a pirate. Oh wait... This ISNT the retarded cakewalk forum!
The following statement is true.
The previous statement is false.

but it is an odd question. sonar ships with an excellent manual...

I disagree.. That manual sucks ass. Period. Unless youve been a legacy customer and know how everything in all the older versions worked.

And who gives a shit if he doesnt have the real manual.

Well, if you're willing to pay a bit, I don't think you could do better than Sonar Power by Scott Garrigus. I bought Sonar 3 Power before I even bought the Sonar software, and consequently, have never found a reason to even look at Cakewalk's manual (same with version 4, though I got the bundled CSI Master video tutorial, which was great too).

i care. and are you trying to start another dull warez thread ? or will you just say that you support warez users and we can leave it at that ?

Post

I fully support warez and think its hilarious that people actually spend their hard earned money on some of this software.

All hail the mighty keygen/crack/regcode!!!

Just kidding.
Yeah well...I've never heard of you either and I have never once paid for any piece of software. Suckers...

sorry mates but you're absolutely wrong. I use FL (legal) for 2 years, and I just wanted to try Sonar's demo to see if it suits my new needs (now I've bought a hardware synth and need a host which works better with it than FL, as I've explained in other posts)
BUT I can't get acquainted with a program without a manual, and that's why I'm asking for one. how are you supposed to decide if a program is what you need if you can't make good use of its demo because there's no manual?

If there isn't a manual that doesn't come with the program, well just say it and all's clear to me.

But calling me a pirate (did you see the parrot on my shoulder or something?) is out of the point. I've payed for all the tools I use in my music. (FL Studio, Reaktor Session, Wusikstation, Microtonic, Access Virus Indigo, all legally acquired with my money)

flugel45 has a recommendation, origami, and I second it: Scott Garrigus' "Sonar Power!" Hope you like Sonar and buy it, it's a good solid program made by devs who really listen to their customers.

There is a nice, nearly 700 page paper manual that is included, with the purchase, of SONAR. Cakewalk has always been good about that.
I'm on the road to Sonic Nirvana
