That's what I do. I actually havent' opened SS2 since I got Sampletank. It's just nice to have the whole library under one GUI.

It does but it hasn't gotten the update yet. It will soon and it will also benefit from 2.1 features and so on.

Register SS2 at IK and any future updates should appear in your user area.

Of course, SS2 engine has some catching up to do even with the current SampleTank 2 engine. Just today I notice that SS2 cannot save/load effects patches

yeah i think SS2 came a long way from the original situation though so you have to keep this in mind. before sonic synth 1 had only 4 channels and one stereo output. Sampletank 1 had 16 channels, four outputs and akai import so things have definitely changed this time around with the "2"s.

Im a maroon...I didnt know you could just use ST2 for all the sound files in SS2 and ST2 under one gui!
