Squids, I'm both moving house & going on holiday for 2 weeks in August, and I'd hate to pre-order only to have it arrive either when I'm on holiday so there's no-one here to receive it, or to the wrong address! Is there a way to pre-order but say 'Don't ship until I tell you where to and when'?

Post

So just to summarise:

If you have ST2XL or ST2L you can preorder now at a price of $319.

If you do not have either of these, there is no preorder option?

I have ST2 but only the engine so I wouldn't qualify for the crossgrade, when am I going to be able to order? :D

The crossgrade preorder is $319.

The regular preorder is listed at $449, but regular eSoundz customers will get it for less, depending on your member level. :)

Ok, I've ordered this now (with suitable reference to harmony gardens) though never had the e-mail with the code in... (makes note to e-mail alex when I get home).

Oh god, more expense...

Shame the crossgrade isn't cheaper with Platimun, since the amount you get off the full version is a major significant amount. (Maybe I should have gone for this instead of crossgrade).

How does cross grading from ST2 to Miroslav affect upgrading to ST3 (whenever that is?)

That's going to be a subjective thing, but you can hear the Philharmonik Demos here.

Squids... I don't love you 'no mo'...you're sending me broke.
The product has only been up for part of the day and we already have over 25 people signed up. 25 more that special bonus extra. I might even make for all people who pre-order before July 5th to be nice. It's a secret extra that I will announce later. Could be a special disc of sounds, could be a T-Shirt, who knows? That's what makes it fun. :D
Loving you again.

Ordered!!!

and

Broke!!!

At least I have my SS2, ST2, Amplitube and Philharmonik to keep me warm at night when I get kicked out of my home.

Refered Tele...but he has to many epoints so he didn't get it...sorry.

Actually Squids already owes me some drum sticks. I sent him my address after he requested it, then he went to Namm and I haven't heard back from him since.

Doh!

Yes, you can put instructions in the comments section of your order or just send an email to sales@esoundz.com to attach this info to your order.

Actually, the full price MAP is $429 but just for a limited time. This is all an introductory price. MSRP of Miro is actually going to be $599. but you can buy it for the intro period for a discount based on the $499 because we didn't want to disappoint anyone planning to get it. However, costs went up significantly (for good reason though, you will see) and by around the end of the Summer it will go up to a MAP based on $599.

The crossgrade MSRP is $399 and the same thing goes. The introductory price is $349 and the store discount (that's what essentially MAP means btw, minimum advertised price) is $319. That will also go up based on $399 as MSRP around the end of the Summer.

So, get it in July or August and you save a little plus benefit from the extra things added that weren't even announced such as... woops! I almost told! I will next week. Like I said. July 5th, just visit www.philharmonik.com for some surprises revealed.

I have that library. It's very good. Totally different sound than Miroslav Philharmonik though. Some more technical aspects that are interesting. I can get a more lush sound out of Miroslav though. Of course, since the QL gold has 18 violin sections and Miroslav has both 11 and 23 violin sections that could be one of the reasons. Also, the emotion in the playing is quite different.

I find QL and VSL to be really great work. They have nice features and the effort that was put in I appreciate. I have both. They are good to have. On a personal taste level I prefer Miroslav Philharmonik for inspiration and speed of working. But, having all of them is a luxury that if one can afford I highly recommend. Mixing them together is also nice.

Well, I approve it. I am not the actual person who sends things. But, if you email support@esoundz.com or sales@esoundz.com they will be happy to send you the sticks! Sorry about that.

Getting back on the EWQLSO Gold query - it actually has 11 & 18 violin sections. Personally, I find EWQLSO leans towards the energetic sound of Williams and Elfman (especially the brass), the strings exhibit a very hard, grainy sound (even the butter legato patches exhibit these qualities). From the demo's of Miroslav, it leans towards a more softer, lusher sound - more towards Zimmer (currently loving his Batman Begins soundtrack, btw) and Michael Kaman.

Although the above is my subjective opinion, like Squids says, Miroslav had a knack for coaxing very emotional performances, so I think the above comparisons are valid.

Personally, i find that EWQLSO does give a good range of convincing performance variety, from the thunderingly loud orchestrations, to minimal, delicate arrangements. It'll be interesting to see how Philharmonik compares.

As if I have one gripe with EWQL it's the viola's, they seem very synthetic, almost like they're bandpassed and they also seem to be mixed louder than the rest of the sections. Like many, I look forward to mixing and matching orchestral libraries.

Anyway, i look forward to this great product - if I could raise one question, how exactly are the instruments laid out in regard to mic positions (close miked, stage, ambience) as I admit this was another gripe i had with EWQL Gold in the way it constricts your choice, relative to the limited mic choices on certain instruments.
