Hi,

im looking for some good eqs or general exciters for my drum sounds, im sending each drum hit to a seperate channel for EQ and processing

but dont really have much of an idea on the different types of EQ or Exciter etc

i know multi band eq is for more mastering the end mix, but thats it,
any recommendations would be great so i can check out some demos or even find some frees one ?

its for warm soulful house & deep house music

thanks mark

multi-band eq's are wonderful for applying to individual tracks. You're thinking of multi-band COMPRESSORS.

My main EQ's are the Pultec-Pro and Cambridge, both of which run off of the UAD-1 card. Not cheap, and you can't demo them without the card, which costs about $400.

Take a look at Izotopes 'Ozone 3" includes a full band eq as well as a multiband exciter, dynamics, imaging etc. The mastering reverb is nice for very small reverb times - ie for giving drums a touch of air. Well worth trying the demo.
