Just got back from seeing Spielbergs War of the Worlds. Not sure what to think yet. I don't want to spoil it for anyone else so I will wait till a few more people have seen it before I give my two cents worth. I will say the visual effects are pretty good and there is alot to be said for Spielbergs ability to visually shock us in this movie but....

I'd hope they never left their craft. Let us not forget what caused the downfall of the aliens in the original story.Bunnyboy wrote:were there any aliens in it??

I also saw last night another War of the Worlds movie from Pendragon Pictures which was the absolute worse picture ever made in the history of film. Total joke of a movie, but that one stayed pretty close to H.G. Wells original story. Spielberg changed alot but it still has some of the meat of the plot although I question whether Spieberg understands us Humans too well.
There is another War of the Worlds that came out recently, direct to dvd that I am now anxious to see, this one stars C. Thomas Howell and is supposed to be very good.
Now we all know pretty much how stupid those aliens really are.I'd hope they never left their craft. Let us not forget what caused the downfall of the aliens in the original story.

actors are vacant mouthpieces whose words are crafted by greater minds than theirs. when forced to fly solo you see just how mindless they are. the breathtaking arrogance of cult-looney cruise is a perfect example.
i'll also never forget how bbc comedian 'very important pennis' absolutely destroyed carey. carey was left speechless by vip's impromptu questions and could only wiggle his eyebrows while calling for his goons. without a scriptwriter he was lost.
