Yeah, RB is pretty nice. We even got an L & L BBQ close by last year so I get my Plate Lunch quota again now!SaviorNeeded wrote:Nothing much up here, Jeff...but I'm never leaving Kauai! Redondo Beach is pretty OK though, isn't it?

There's still no surf to speak of and it's a bit cold in winter compared to the islands.
I only got over to Kauai once. Enjoyed it though!

yeah, i'm a Christian, and i make noises some call music, but i usually don't make christian music. i kind of hate it. it often looks like a sort of recovery attitude to "occupy the ground", artificially and in a proselyt fashion.
of course, my lyrics are influenced by my "Weltanschauung" and then i tend to deliver a hidden christian "message". but it's not a goal, just a consequence of what i am today.
the day when i'll make explicit christian music it will be linked to liturgy, following the great classical tradition. a mass, a psalm, a prayer, etc. but i believe i'm not ready to go there yet.

I'm a follower of Jesus Christ, but I don't listen to or play gospel music. It sounds like hip-hop and R&B and rock and alternative. I loved it when it sounded different.

Hi, Aaron --
I'm Christian and make music (or, at least, I call it music). So far just instrumental stuff, no lyrics yet. Which is weird, since I've had half a dozen short stories published, and think of myself as a writer and not a musician.

i'd like to make clear that my critics against "christian music" is not aimed at any music explicitly christian. it's a question of attitude. a songwriter who writes christian songs is ok in my book (for example, rockstar_not and his entry of this month).
i'm less convinced when it smells the "hey, why wouldn't we evangelize the masses? let's form a hard rock band!"

Have you heard Frank Hart's stuff? Go to www.atomicopera.com and click "links". Follow the "fever dreams" link, then choose "downloads". Scroll down to "Frank Hart" and to "World Without End". Some cool music , much of which is based in liturgy.Wopelka wrote:

christian music? pagan music? buddha music? cmon ppl... please keep all your religion far from the purity of music... If there is a God out there (because seems it's not much taking care of us in these days) it's listening to all type of music... from Celtic to Trance... from Mars and Venus... and probably .... He is dancing a lot...

I do, however also make music and make a living with it so I am indeed blessed.
Click on my banner below for my main band's website. I also enter the contests from time to time and usually place just below the prize winners.![]()
Don't make me look up a bible quote about that.

You cant depend on a lot of things
You need a busload of faith to get by.
