I agree that most of that "Christian rock/pop" type stuff sucks but surely you don't mean the likes of Messiain and several other modern composers who write explicity Christian music (and very moving too - even to a died in the wool atheist like me)

christian music? pagan music? buddha music? cmon ppl... please keep all your religion far from the purity of music... If there is a God out there (because seems it's not much taking care of us in these days) it's listening to all type of music... from Celtic to Trance... from Mars and Venus... and probably .... He is dancing a lot...

good point. music is a language. there's no christian music per se, in the same way you can't say that english is christian or french is christian.

however, with words you can write a christian prayer or a cooking receipt, or anything else. the language is a possibility of expressing something, and why not faith?

I'm one, I did a praise & worship album a couple of years ago and I'm working on another for 2007 - one day I'll get some tracks up, if you can cope with them...

Have you heard Frank Hart's stuff? Go to www.atomicopera.com and click "links". Follow the "fever dreams" link, then choose "downloads". Scroll down to "Frank Hart" and to "World Without End". Some cool music , much of which is based in liturgy.

I meant it as self effacing rather than bragging (the contest part). I've just missed the boat several times. Story of my life..........

That I can make a living (albeit meager), is truly something I thank God for. No bragging here, just thankfulness.

It shouldn't be in the Music Cafe for a start... Everything Else at a pinch... I'm moving it to Off Topic for now but I spect it'll end up in HPC...

as long as it doesn't turn nasty (where a closure would be better than a move to HPC), i think its place is in Everything Else, as it is related to music. i repeat: music.

the problem with OT: the threads are not archived, which is a shame for an honourable subject of discussion.
