Is upgrading Cubase SL 2.0 to 3.0 worth it? My album project at the moment uses Reason, a few VSTi's and will use many effects plugins. On a limited budget, I'm trying to decide whether to buy the upgrade or buy some good plugins instead, and not worry about getting SL 3.0 until later, even though I may have to pay more for it (i.e. tomorrow's the last day for the $99.00 special). Any thoughts?

Since there is no offline processing on SL and freeze works well on SL3, that´s a no brainer IMO, still there is rendering,
Edituing audio now it´s easier, but i´m so used to do it the old fashion way, but hitpoints have their virtues.
The upgrade i believe it´s not expensive, but i´m not the best man to guide you, i still use SX3 as it was SX2... oh i forgot external FX, and the same old straigthforward blunt simplicity that works.

It depends. How much do you love Cubase. If it's as important to as your right arm, then by all means upgrade as soon as you can. You'll be happy you did. If you find yourself just using it as a ReWire master with Reason so you can add VSTs you can probably stick with SL 2.0frank001 wrote:Is upgrading Cubase SL 2.0 to 3.0 worth it?
