The only thing worse than a sore loser is a sore winner.. Would the bush boosters please take their religion/politics to the appropriate forum, Hyde Park Corner?

Unless LadyJ gets banned from this forum, I'm out of here too. Anyone know any other decent music sites that offer similar competitions?
No mate -- but by God I bet it wouldn't be all that hard to start one...

...though I do so love me KVR...

Yeah... maybe I'm outta here too. It wouldn't be the first time I've seen a good thing trashed to hell by spamming trolls or neurotically-driven megalomaniacs... :(
As an alternative - how about someone (Markleford, griels?) setting up an alternative competition this month - one from which LadyJ is banned from competing and commenting - is this possible?
You know -- I just wonder why it is soo hard for her to be a little less up herself and a little more considerate of the nominal conventions in the contest threads. It's not like any of us are like 'against girls' or something. If anyone -- male/female/memale/shemale jumped in here and bombarded the thread with bullshit we'd generally react the same way (as we have), but she appears not to get this or not to care.

I used to really like her a lot, but I don't anymore. I think of her now as a major pest and attention whore, and it's a pity (though of course, I am a 'Joe Nobody', so no worries for her ;) )
I really have no place here being that I likely wont be a part of the contest, but I do have lots of respect for so many of you...anyhow I just want to say that Lady J is not an attention whore. Like you I use to respect her until.. . She is though imo an attention junkie, which is far more alarming...like any junkie her fixes get bigger and bigger...

Now I apologize, I will step back to the background again and continue to enjoy learning from the lot of you...I do not want to scar the contest...there's some great musicians and fine folk here... :D
The highest form of knowledge is empathy, for it requires us to suspend our egos and live in another's world. It requires profound, purpose‐larger‐than‐the‐self kind of understanding.

Me too. I recall when she last entered the monthly comp - August 2004 - her "I am a Robot" entry. I don't recall there being anywhere near this kerfuffle that month. Something ugly has happened in the meantime. A pity, cause she obviously has musical talent.

Oh, and lets keep talking about her loudly in public and pretend she isn't listening
Time is an illusion - lunchtime doubly so.

Don't go to S.E. Asia then... In the Thai/Cambodian/Lao/Vietnamese communites in the US the style you described is sacred rock hair cut as it is in the countries of origin.

Lady J -- In light of your July submission, so obviously a cut and paste from some other crap you've done, I now believe that your winning entry for June was 'composed' the same way -- using God only knows what studios/producers/writers, etc. I mean, who knows? You seem so obviously like the type that would slit your mother's throat to "make it" that I can't put much past you.

There is no way in hell my 69 dollar host and my free VSTi can compete with that in what I thought was supposed to be a 'compose from scratch for the theme' contest.

So I'm out. No worries for anyone I'm sure, but to me it kind of sucks.

As well, I thought, 'well, I'll continue to do some reviews', but then I listen to your submissions again and ask myself 'what worth does that have?'

You've either inadvertantly or (most likely) purposefully tried to dampen the spirit of the contests here and could care less what others think or say about it. Good luck.

Cheers,
Alex

Dear xander,

As you probably have noticed I post a list of what was used on all of my entries. I have no need to hide anything as I made my first two albums on nothing but an ASR-10

And didnt a few groups have a few hits in the UK using nothing but an Akai S950 and an Atari 1040ST?

Your $69 host and free vsts are miles more capable than either of those things.

Again, some believe gear and software is a substitute for talent while others make the best of what they have and blow people away. Read Hinks message about Back To Basics in the Everything Else forum for examples.

I use Logic and stuff I've learned in the 10 years I've been making music professionally. That's all.

Whores & Junkies aren't mutually exclusive.
