I buy AMD because its a better product. Shit the reason the amd x2 chip is twice the price is not because its trying to make up for what intel takes away but because its 30-40% faster then the Penium D

My previous processor was an AMD Athlon XP. My current processor is an AMD Athlon 64. My next processor will be an Athlon 64 X2. Intel? Can go to hell. Together with Apple.
Now if only there was some serious competition for Microsoft like AMD for Intel...

AMD all the way!! Their HQ is hear in Austin Tx, so I'm always happy to support the local talent and get a better product at the same time.

Before Intel launched their new line of chipsets and naming conventions last year my company was given a training on how to deal with it. When people asked why they were doing it they basically came back with a "cause we feel like it" response. We were basically told to "deal with it" and that it's the way it is.
Myself and my fellow salespeople found that kind of attitude to be really arrogant and offensive. That just did a really good job of showing everyone exactly what Intel's mentality is. I hope AMD wins and whatever decision made sticks.

once ibm, toshiba and sony get their pants ironed, intel and amd will have to perform some hocus pocus to go up against the cell processor.
not really intel/amd will have the 32 core processor by 2009 or around that time

Intel is so f**ked it could lay dino eggs from its rectum.
I bought P233 in 1997 and it was good. I bought AMD 1.2GHz in 2000 and it was great. I bought XP2000+ in 2002 and it was brilliant. I will buy a 4400+ this autumn and I know it will rock!
Cheers!

Did I ever tell you kids about the great Hupmobile-versus-Duryea controversy? We were sure one or the other would be the Car of the Future. Why, I've still got my pamphlet from the New York World's Fair: "A Hupmobile Landing Pad on Every Roof by 1940!"
Those were fine, well-respected brands. But we all know what happened.
Packard blew 'em off the map, and now Packards are all you see. That and De Sotos.

The real writing on the wall, from a technology point-of-view, is that for the first time I can recall, Intel have had to sell their flagship CPU's at a hugely lower price than AMD in order to remain competitive. If the law suit does nothing more than stop Intel from indulging in dodgy practices in the future, AMD will continue to go from strength to strength.spoonboiler wrote:intel has been acting like a f**king mob for years, and if they lose, they might actually be forced to fix some of the longstanding issues with their product instead of relying on shake-downs and intimidation to keep their market share.
The downside is that we AMD supporters will probably have to start paying what the processors are really worth in a fair marketplace.
