Didn't I see a purchasable download for the new ST2 Omnisynth programms without the samples somewhere? I can't seem to find it anymore, but I definately would love to load them in ST2 with the new programming.

So, how do you do that? Two easy ways. One is to just put it into your comments section of the order. For instance, let's say you own Piano Collection eROM ver 1 and you'd like to get the ver 2 Piano Collection disc for free. All you do is place an order for say Symphony Strings (if you don't have it already) and then when you order it just put in your comments section of the order "I would love to get an update to my Piano Collection ver 1!!! Can you include the ver 2 upgrade in this shipment please?" and what will happen is the shipping staff will look up if you are an owner of the original Piano Collection and if you are then they'll pop in your extra upgrade at no cost. Simple.
You can also do that by talking to a human and confirming such as alex@esoundz.com or anyone at support@esoundz.com or sales@esoundz.com We're cool that way. Just need to cover costs that's all.

Cool, download is fine for me.
It's less MB than the 120MB Hypersonic upgrade that I had to load down last year.
So no problem...

So, I bought the SS1 group buy and received Omnisynth and Symphonic Strings with it... so if I order the SS2 upgrade, I can get at least one of these ugraded to ST2 format for free? Cool!
Edit: Even cooler that I can download them free. Thanks!
Here's another question while I'm thinking of upgrading SS1: I understand that there are some SS1 sounds that aren't in SS2. Is there a list somewhere? I figure I'll blow away what's redundant...

All of the sounds from SS1 that weren't put into SS2 are actually available ala carte now as downloadable esoundz on www.esoundz.comdougsyo wrote:So, I bought the SS1 group buy and received Omnisynth and Symphonic Strings with it... so if I order the SS2 upgrade, I can get at least one of these ugraded to ST2 format for free? But what about we who bought SS1 and 2 and would like to delete the duplicates? I was going to write a Python script to check for duplicated filenames but they don't quite match up (and, erm, I lost interest).

I noticed they don't match up ... that complicates things. That's why I wanted a list of sounds that have been dropped so I know what to keep - or a "cleanup.bat" file that can remove all of the ones that have been replaced.Meffy wrote:But what about we who bought SS1 and 2 and would like to delete the duplicates? *nod* Maybe I'll get back to that Python dealie before long. The numbers are different, but I can ignore those and key on the rest of the name plus maybe filesize... or maybe not; that could differ too. Ah well, worth a shot I suppose.
In any case, once it works I could alter it to spit out a DOS batch file instead of deleting files itself. Then even non-Pythonistas could benefit.

I have ActiveState Python on my machine, but I still do most of my work in perl on unix - but you're right, a batch file would be a better choice.Meffy wrote:*nod* Maybe I'll get back to that Python dealie before long. Sonik Synth 2 is a complete self-contained library. You'll probably find that once you start using it, you won't want to go back to the SS1 library.
Keep the SS1 library around for a while for compatibility with old projects, and then remove/archive it once you've fully migrated to Sonik Synth 2.
You won't be sorry.

Well, you said that, but Squids said:Kim (esoundz) wrote:Sonik Synth 2 is a complete self-contained library. You'll probably find that once you start using it, you won't want to go back to the SS1 library.
That tells me that SOMETHING is missing. I'm asking "how do I figure out what is missing vs included without doing a fuzzy name-by-name comparison?" and it seems that is my only solution. Good enough, I was just hoping for either a list of "these carried over" or "these didn't carry over".All of the sounds from SS1 that weren't put into SS2 are actually available ala carte now as downloadable esoundz on www.esoundz.com
