That would be awesome indeed! Also, make sure you buy that wee**... ahem.. .. that stuff that makes me compose better music.

"real tube warmth" from your brain meltdown :drunk:
Exactly. I swear that most people defending their hardware are only doing it because they wasted so much money for it.

Nice to see that childish attitude rolling on...

How about those of us who haven't got such hardware but have the ears - and the brain - to hear the difference?-)

Put that in your pipe and smoke it,

however i agree that argueing about it is retarded because it comes down to taste.

Post

I kind of agree, it is retarded in a way. I however disagree on the taste issue - which one you prefer if of course a taste issue, but I'm under the assumption we're talking if there is an audible difference.

And it would be clearer for everybody if these two things were kept separate... (along with all the other practically unrelated issues the original post threw in together and lumped it all as being the same)

I've added a third clip, featuring tape saturation where I recovered the highs with the pultec sample (adds tons of additional character). It's rather obvious this one. Enjoy.

EDIT:

Here are the clips in case you missed my first post.

Clip2

Roll your eyes all you want. it's still true.

It's not like i'm saying that ALL of the hardware owners are that way. Just most. Honestly, I think (and know) that [hi end] analogue sounds better, but it's an inconeniance that the functionality of software leaves in the dust.

My father just bought an analogue CD Player (seriously) and it's the best sounding thing i've ever heard.

And this is based on your view of vst analog emulation plug ins?!
All my favorite emulations out perform their hardware predocessors.
Shit, my software emulation of you outperforms its hardware 'predocessor' also.

OK, I understand where you're coming from now. It just bothers me a bit to see a blanket statement like that. I for one feel absolutely no need to defend my analog purchases, and honestly, I think the majority of hardware analog owners don't either. BUT, I can see why you'd have that impression, this does tend to be one of the topics that can make tempers flare rather easily.

Yeah, I'm kinda wondering the same thing. Is there a new format out or something? Perhaps an optical track burned on the CD surface?
