Others than that, this seems to be a nice little tool.
I was thinking of having it so you can save presets... will that do until I figure out how to do what you're talking about?

I'm not exactly talking about presets (any host could handle this) but about some archiving functionality (well, you *could* call this preset saving).

Let's say you backup a song. 2 years later you may want to reload it, and while you still have the plugin DLL, the soundfonts might be missing (entirely, or just the location might've changed) as you might've drastically changed your sample/sf directories.

I don't think it's even necessary to implement a new format, embedding the soundfont-samples, just an option to simply save the soundfont into your song directory (for backup purposes), without having to do it manually using Windows' explorer.
And as said, once a font isn't found, there should be an easy "Please locate XYZ.sf2" option, so you'd just know it was in your backupped song directory and point the search dialog to that folder.
There are 3 kinds of people:
Those who can do maths and those who can't.

I'll see if I can implement that. That's a cool idea, but as long as you can turn it off. :P

I wouldn't want it eating up hard disk space if you don't want it to.

Yeah, but it could be possible with some cleverness... I'm going to try to figure it out.

I've had some display problems with it using Sonar 4. It only displays the left 1/3 of the GUI. It allocates the full space for the plugin, but the rest of it is gray. So it's basically non-functioning because you can't use any of the controls past the first 3.

Same issue here with FL Studio.

Is that the very latest download of the VSTi? Because I use it in Sonar 4 and the GUI is fine. Whatever it is, that problem is essential for me to fix.

Basically in the soundfont loader it accesses different multisamples in different regions of the keyboard.
how have you done that??

It's a great way of changing the timbre of a certain sound, so for example, when you shift the timbre up (brighter), for a E4 it'll use thet sample from D4 instead of original sample. So that way the D4 sample gets pitched up, naturally making the sound brighter.

It's a little cool trick I figured out on my old Alesis QS6 about 6 years or more ago.

Has problems in Tracktion2, especially with UltimateGuitarKit2 and several other soundfonts. Would be nice to have an alternative to SFZ, but so far no...

Just downloaded again to make sure that I have the latest version, and it's still happening in FL Studio.

I blame it entirely on Synthedit's soundfont loader. :P
