I have to say, I started this thread as a bit of a joke, in response to some of other threads on the forum. I thought nothing could be more innocent than a thread about Oompa-Loompas and bubblegum (music).

It turns out that I was wrong.

The Oompa-Loompas have a troubling, racist past. I didn't know this until a few minutes ago, when I stumbled across this webpage:

Isn't anything sacred? Can't we just have a cute children's story without these sorts of veiled references?
