The usual way of doubling guitar tracks without actually re-recording the other takes (which is the best method anyways to get a really fat sound) is to pan them and shift one of the two a few milliseconds. To get even better results you may want to try different EQs on the two. However, very often this method might result it some sort of "static chorus" or whatever.
As said, really fat guitars are rerecorded. Of course, this requires some playing discipline for proper results.

ok, point taken
I really meant to use different amp sim settings for the two tracks, but messed up...
anyway I updated the clip, so it is stereo now (though still not really doubled)...

It's not so much the eqing/amp sim/sound of the second (copied/doubled) track as the timing; the way that two (doubled) tracks behave in acoustic terms when they differ slightly in timing produces a wonderful thickening effect._niko_ wrote:ok, point taken![]()

There's really nothing that acheives the same result as playing the same part twice and panning them to taste.

here's one sample...it's starts with very little volume out of the guitar to wide open in the end. Ignore the sound effects, the song will someday be about a castle (I hope, if I ever finish it) the sounds you hear are footsteps and a drawbridge opening (that' why the organ gets louder, it's suppose to be in the castle, the more the door opens the louder it gets)...

You're planning on selling your VST, yes?
Sort the site out.

And I shall post something; it'll be the sound of a valve amp and 1x12 cab into a mic.j_T wrote:By now I'd really like to hear an example from youchampionrabbit wrote:I take it all back!Midiworks wrote:Since you are the first of a few hundred...![]()

It will be rough.
Whether it's the best recording of a guitar in the history of recording, or pure white noise doesn't change anything.

Personally, while they aren't bad, I think the Guitar Port tones suffer from the same symptom the POD is suffering from: Too much low mud frequencies (the Pod Pro/XT seem to be better). Funny, it's the same with the VAmp, just not as drastic.
I've got some patches with the bass knob literally turned to 0, another bit of lowcut on the mixer... and yet I often apply some further lowcut while mixing.
Seems to be valid for a lot of the highgain amp models.
