I am in search of a powerful Reverb VSTI to use with
Rhodes and other piano sounds in my host, Fl Studio. The built in reverb is good but I really want to upgrade if I can find a good one.

I have been using MDE-X that came with my Korg Legacy...can I do much better than this?

Any and all comments and suggestions appreciated.

Not sure what your price range is, but the Arts Acoustic Reverb is top notch due to it's wonderful tail design, especially if you looking for a "dreamy" sounding EP.

Check out the Rhodes specific demos here:

Dry: http://www.artsacoustic.com/samples/31rhodes_dry.mp3

Wet: http://www.artsacoustic.com/samples/32rhodes_dreamy.mp3

This preset alone made me but this plug-in (it's VST)

Hope that helps! :)

Princeton Digital is having a group buy on their Stereo Room VST.

It's a great sounding, low cpu vst that you could try. If 50 people buy, you get it for $99. If that total isn't reached, you get your money back.

(Reg price is $200)

check out freeware convolution reverb SIR. there are many free reverb impulses available.

Bingo! I am downloading the demo right now.

Thanks to all for the help. Arts Acoustic Reverb is exactly what I'm looking for.

I'll download a demo if possible. The Arts Acoustic Reverb sounds great but is very rough on the CPU.

Try the "Low" CPU button - this doesn't mess with the math portion of the reverb, it just downsamples itself by half. the difference is very slight, since most sources being sent through the reverb aren't really affected by it anyway. The CPU, however, gets a break a bit using it.

That helped a good bit. This is an excellent reverb plug and I'm going to play around with it the next few days. It's extremely powerful compared to what I've been using, so thanks again for the link and demo's.

hi crimsontider,

a little tip to decrease the cpu in addition what cinemascore told you (which is entirely true, btw):
try to reduce the density, don`t use it on 100% if not necessary. unlike with other reverbs, this might sound even better for some needs, as it gets more "open" to some signals. also check the different room characters when trying that option.
hope that helps.
btw:
what machine are you using?
because we think that our reverb is pretty low on cpu ... ;)
Kind regards, Nick at ArtsAcoustic

Hey Nick, thanks for the input. I have a P4 2.66ghz
with a gig of DDR and an Audigy 2. I tried the demo again and the CPU level was low, if fact very low. I believe I must of had FL Studio running twice or something...whoops:!:

I tried your demo ArtsAcoustic against EasyVerb, Korg's MDE-X, 2016 StereoRoom and Native Fruity Reverb. Here is how I rate them.

ArtsAcoustic
2016 StereoRoom
EasyVerb
MDE-X
Fruity Reverb Plugin

For the type of music that I plan on using a good amount of Reverb with, ArtsAcoustic had a fuller sound and much better post sound effect(whatever this is called!).

I plan on purchasing ArtsAcoustic in the next few weeks.

ArtsAcoustic is brilliant - you can compare it with a lot more expensive plugins and even hardware and its a winner. Very few VST reverbs sound good 100% - try the Princeton 100% wet for example. AAR is good enough for "exposed" reverb tails, whereas other reverbs might only be acceptable when buried well below the dry signal.
