Err... wasn't this about somewhat "raw" clips?
Admittedly, I added a backing to one of my clips too, but only to "demo" a sound in context that I've been using before.

Gordon, I think you got a good tone there for all sorts of jazzy stuff.

The main idea is to hear the actual sound of the amp (or its simulation)

Thanks Sascha! I think I can improve on it a bit but this is useable for the kind of stuff I'm working on.

Cheers,
Gordon

VAmp2.
You can get it incredibly cheap these days (just saw one for 129 Euro, new and all).
Just had a look at thomann, they have it for 99Euro ("normal price:126). Is that something different, Sascha??

It's 99.- EUR everywhere I looked, looks like there was a price drop recently or sth.
Silghtly off-topic but any thoughts on wether the additional money for the vamp pro is worth it?

Wow, so they made it even cheaper. And no, it's exactly the one I'm using (I paid 169 back then, which was a great offer allready, has been around 250 when it came out).

I can really recommend the VAmp to anybody who needs a more or less flexible solution. Might be worth to mention that it comes with both a relatively fine gig bag and an up/down switch, so you can easily use it for sessions too.

The VAmp Pro has got some better adjustement features and, most of all, it's got digital outs, so you could save one DA/AD conversion stage.
Also, MIDI control is implemented better and it's got more user patches.
For my stuff I prefer the smaller version as it even fits in my gigbag.

Thanks Sascha and niko! edit: Sascha had already explained about pro and 2-version.

Nice to hear Vamp samples.
Vamp2 is $99 in the US now.
I don't need it but it's so ridiculously low priced I will have to buy one now.
I just wish it would work on batteries, this way I could justify my purchase as a needed travel "guitar walkman" or whatever is called.

By the way anybody using any "guitar walkmans"?
Any recommendations?

Thanks Sascha! I was mainly considering the pro version because it would, at least theoretically, allow to record a dry signal and change the sound afterwars via its pre-dsp aux send/return, which is sth. I like about using software amp sims. But then I am not sure wether the required cabling and all is really worth it. Ah, decisions

a couple questions come to mind...first I have a pod 2.0 and a sansamp...but the pod was an employee deal, and why I bought it. I left retail just as Vamp was coming out.

1. Being behringer I have to ask do you belueve, or do you prefer to believe the a/d converters are as good as a soundcards? Because the truth is it's all in the A/D converters.

2. About the more and better midi....what are you comparing this too? The line six pod editor for 2.0 adds features not labeled on the piece itself. If Vamp has more user presets I wouldn't think it would matter, I dont have enough life left in me to try all the ones at the "Tone Transfer".

My son doesn't play guitar (he's 24), but he sings. His guitar player is looking for something, that's why I ask. He's coming by today and I'm giving him my stupid little behringer mixer. The thing is just plain awful and noisey...but he can set it up to monitor without latency. So with the experiences I have had with behringer I'm a little hestitant to suggest it...but if it's good I would suggest it...;)
