Hi, I'm a potential

Logic user and I'm really curious about some aspects regarding this sequencer. I hope some Logic users around here will have the kindness to give some me answers.

1 - I know everybody talks about how good is Cubase to editing audio compared to Logic, but could you guys be more specific about this? I mean if Cubase has crossfades that can be dragged (and dropped

)doesn't Logic have also flexible crossfades? Or if Cubase has ctrl click on the audio part and choosing a plugin to apply it offline on the selected part doesn't Logic have a similar option? How about fades in and out, aren't they flexible enough (choosing different curves etc)?

2 - I'm particularly curious about the quality of the Adaptive Limiter included for premastering purposes. How transparent is it? Does it stand out as a proffesional tool or it's just an average limiter?

3 (and last..... well

for now) - about the new full pdc. Is it necessary to be activated when using Logic's plugins (Space Designer or some delays) on busses?

No, Logic doesn't have this feature, nor had it before, to say the truth. Logic users unfortunately often say that something is in Logic while you actually have to use a more or less tedious workarround.

I'd like to be wrong on that particular question, but I guess I'm not.

just wanted to say - i just switched to logic 7.1 from sx3 on a pc and i have absolutely no regrets. it does take a little getting used to but everything is just so much more efficient (in terms of getting a track together). by the way, the included plugins are adequate but not incredible. the 3rd party stuff is often just as good if not better.

and the automation is just

I'm just wondering.. do you mix in the track mixer or do you just stick to the audio layer in your environment?

I don't really see the point of the track mixer (especially not when you have multi instruments)

I don't really see the point of the track mixer (especially not when you have multi instruments)

i use the environment screen i think (the one that you get by pressing simultaneously option and 8). now that i've been working with the program for a couple weeks, i find this to be better than the pre-made mixers. it's much more easy to set up the mixer the way i want it in the option+8 screen (which i think is called the environment). if i just want to add another multitimbral instrument, then i can easily just create aux channels in the environment. i find this much easier than being constantly forced to hide and unhide numerous mixer channels at a time in cubase (sx3). + i can route things a little more easily than i could in cubase and i like how once you've used all of the inserts or aux channels, new ones appear. nice touch.
