Sorry can do it right now. As I sad, I can't go to my studio. Maybe latter on.
No problem!

It's not really a big deal, but it would be nice to be able to only have the artifacts of one mp3 encoding on each clip.. :)

When I first tried Amplitube I couldn't stand the way it sounded, but on these examples, I like the way it sounds better than the others.

Is there any chance we can get another riff to test that would accomodate more high-gain settings in lower chords..more metal-ish perhaps?

I have found that things that sound great for rock pop and blues get muddy as f**k when used for precise stop and start metal riffs, especially when tuned lower.

Anyhow, cool idea for a thread!

Crimsontider thank you for collaborating but we are testing the clean sound here (first rule) and only reverb is allowed (not to much), the second rule.

Maybe we can do the high-gain sound too but we would need another track like Xerocreep suggested.
This one is no good for that. I can't do it right now, maybe someone else can do it for me.

Anyway, what are we still missing ? ..... GRig, Nomad... anything else out there

...and yes, if somebody thinks he (or she) can do it better, please fell free to post the track.

I ceartenly think my tracks are a little heavy on the mid range. Which would probably sound good in mix but not as a stand alone sound.

You should probably try tube baby as well. It is well suited to the general style of the clip being used here (but not limited to).

sorry, I didn't realize that this topic would be limited to only clean and semi-crunchy sounds.

I was talking about the original fender.mp3. In order to be able to run this through an amp sim you will have to decode to wave, then apply the effect and encode to mp3 again, which could result in quite a bit of quality loss.. I thought it would be good if mman could provide this in wave format instead to minimise the reduction in quality..

If you mean you have a couple of processed clips in wave format, I don't think that will be necessary.. Or am I just misunderstanding you here...? :)

oh, you were talking about the orignal wave file. I think it is ok like this, also with my files I agree that mp3 will do.

here are the links for the new files:

Here's a clip done in GuitarRig and SuperCamelPhat2. I mostly like relatively soft and tender tones and so is my take on it.

Yes Sascha I saw that thread. I decided to start this one because I think if you want to test some vst amps you must have one source sound. As you know different guitars and styles can make the same amp sound very different.

Thanks AKJ, will update the original post but I will use only the first sound. You know the rule clean only.

Ok, here's one more from me....it's that TubeBaby plug on the second clean setting.
