championrabbit, I didn't say anything so far. But now I do: You're full of shit, and that seems to be about it. If you got a setup such as what you described, post some goddamn clips because they should be great - if you can't come up with anything at all, you're proving yourself to be nothing else but an asshole. Or maybe you can't just play. Or maybe you can't just record things. Either way, it's making you look like an idiot par excellence.
Done with that.
Midiworks, those clips sound great. Seems there's still quite some need for real amps...

This thread was supposed to be about 'great guitar sounds'.
It was supposed to be helpful for designers.
Is was not supposed to be a 'please help teenage guitarists get good guitar sounds; here is me playing some 80s metal' thread.
Unless I am wrong.
I find this forum pretty hard to take seriously after this...

Even if I couldn't play a note and had never seen a guitar, my points still hold true.Sascha Franck wrote:championrabbit, I didn't say anything so far. But now I do: You're full of shit, and that seems to be about it.
This thread was billed as a "post your/great/good/ guitar sounds" thread for the use of designers.
90% of the guitar sounds have been pure crap.
10% have been ok.
There have been no great clips posted; certainly nothing has been posted that would be useful to serious plug designers.
In no sense am I attacking the thread-starter; I am rather pointing-out the crapness of most KVR guitarists.

oh I see...so let me ask you....are you saying I'm a teenager? Or are you saying you cant take it seriously due to the tangent it took? See quite often some of the best discoveries are made by accident...so if you cant take an entire forum seriously because you have deemed it all bad because one thread went off on a tangent you dislike...then dude you got some hard lessons ahead of you.championrabbit wrote:No.Hink wrote:your point would have merit if you offered up constructive criticisms instead of attacks...

Then post something better or go spoil some other threads, championrabbit.
You've got some valid points, but the way you bring them in simply sucks, nothing else.

I am saying that there are no great guitar sounds posted here.
There are a couple of OKish ones and loads of crap.
Hope that helps.

And as various people have pointed out you're free to contribute some - I only hope that they can be appreciated for their own merits rather than being skewed with personal opinions of the poster.championrabbit wrote:This thread was supposed to be about 'great guitar sounds'.

My delivery may suck, but...well...sorry.
I doubt I'll post a clip here now:
1. everybody would crap it because of what's gone before.
2. it would be crapped.

exactly...@ championrabbit, I dont think the point is whether the tones are great and bad, but a point to what other peoples opinions are of great sounds...which of course varies greatly...that way developers have a broader range of sounds to offer potential customers....no one asked you to judge the quality, but post something you think is great and what you like....this is not a contest...get it now?Spiggy wrote:championrabbit wrote:And as various people have pointed out your free to contribute some - I only hope that they can be appreciated for their own merits rather than being skewed with personal opinions of the poster.Hink wrote: This thread was supposed to be about 'great guitar sounds'.

It's no competition. But it's not a slagfest either. You're just turning this thread into one, championrabbit.
