Hi:
I loaded Sonik Synth 2 Free from your promo CD and registered it successfully. Unfortunately, there are no instruments in the Instrument folder, and when I searched my hard drive for files with the three extensions mentioned in the manual, the only ones I found were the ones in my SampleTank 2 Free directory (which I'm enjoying, btw!).
Based on searching this forum, it looks like I should have 20 instruments in my SS2 Free instrument directory. Any advice on where/how to get them is welcome! (By the way, I do have the combis listed, but anytime I try to use one, I get "intrument missing" messages. This is pretty logical considering that there are no instruments in my SS2 Instruments folder!)
Separate question regarding SampleTank 2 Free: is there a master mix volume control anywhere, or do you have to regulate each channel independently?
Thanks to all!

The sounds are on the disc separately and you just have to drag them over to your HD and put them in the "SS2Instruments" folder (or you can put them anywhere and just hit the "pref" button on the SS2 interface and "browse" to wherever you put those sounds). Those will have the three extensions per sound for the 20 free ones on the disc.
The other solution I recommend is buying the REAL Sonik Synth 2!
Just kidding. (Although instead of 20 sounds you can play with over 5,000 of them!).
SampleTank 2 doesn't have a master volume for the whole module but for each part individually. Of course you can set up a buss master in your sequencer host quite easily. Hope that helps!

Squids:
Thanks so much for the info. I greatly admire the work you and your company do and your participation in this forum.
I'm figuring that either ST2 or Sonik Synth are in my future. Because I'm mostly looking for a high-quality GM (and more) sample player, I'm guessing it will be ST2, but I want to leave no stone unturned.
Thanks again!
