Sorry if this has been done before, didn't have time to search properly.

Is it possible to use Reason Refills from within another host such as Fruity Loops or Cubase? I assume it would probably be done with a VST plugin, does anyone know how?

Post

Nope. You're going to have to render the samples you want out of Reason and then re-edit them.

FL Stusdio will import rex2 files, which is the Propellerheads equivilant of a wave file.

But no program other than Reason can open "packed" refills.

Post

hmm so I could load them into Reason from a packed refill and then export it as rex2? Would be a long process but I could probably deal with it, I just want to use some samples for projects I've already started with FL

Post

Reason doesn't export rex2. As John said, you can render to .wav or .aiff. It's not supposed to be easy -- that's much of the point of refills.

Most sample CDs or libraries in Refill format are available in other formats as well - check the manufacturer website and see if you can get another version.
