Ah yeah. Now this is the nice relaxed kind of vendetta I can handle.Hovmod wrote:Nah. Banjos after sunset.Barnadine wrote:I've always wanted an archenemy. Pistols at dawn?Hovmod wrote:Sorry, mate, but I knew I had to post fast to get the first tango. Everlasting hatred?![]()
Well, you can rumble to a rumba, or tussle to a two-step or you can cha-cha to a samba!Barnadine wrote:Ah yeah. Now this is the nice relaxed kind of vendetta I can handle.Hovmod wrote:Nah. Thanks - I'm not a dance person so I guess this is an amalgam that sort of felt right to me as a groove (don't ask me about sub genres).Barnadine wrote:
Patrick9/Konversation... But the voices are what I'll remember. I'm keen to hear the story behind it all.

Congrats Barnadine! Madness of King George indeed! I still haven't figured out what the prize is for solving these things, but - if there ever is one you should get it. I made the picture using Tyler, an old bit of freeware I found a long time ago. You can download the complete mosaic by clicking the picture above. [367 k]
Thanks. It just wouldn't be all that fun to do more of the same. This took me quite a few hours to complete but I had a lot of fun trying something so radically different.Barnadine wrote:Katanaman/Dance With Moi - Congrats for not taking the easy path. And you've done a great job mixing together bits of funk, hiphop, lounge jazz, etc.
Yeah, I tend to do that... Sometimes less is more, but I keep overcomplicating things... I'll remember that.Barnadine wrote:If anything, things blend together too well. Rather than any of the elements holding the attention, it all combines into something which, though enjoyable, is somehow less distinctive than you'd expect from all the ingredients.
It's frustrating, actually... It took me a lot of discipline to avoid those things and now I'm told they would be good. I purposedly EQ'ed everything to make it more laidback. The drums were originally a lot harder and they would be great in harder kinds of music, but I felt they would be out of place here. I was probably wrong. I did add craziness, in the little break at 0:58. It was originally full of glitches but I removed most of them to keep it laidback. I spent a lot of precious time ruining my songBarnadine wrote:Now, if it was a little glitchier, or a little funkier... I know you weren't aiming for 'intense' this month, but I wouldn't have minded a harder edge to the beats, or just some small craziness in there somewhere.
Wow, thanks! It's always good to know I'm someone around here.Barnadine wrote:But now I think about it: a mellow, well-behaved song from Katanaman - that's crazy enough by itself.![]()
