Hmm... just to (kind of) answer the original question... if you get Reaktor, you can access a large number of different types of trancegate things, including one that I found that is a simple gate, nothing more... however, you have to then pay for Reaktor, which is far more than CamelSpace (and even with it, I've been thinking about getting CamelSpace as well...).
