Hi.

Im a Sonar user and got a new MIDI keyboard about 2 months ago [m-audio radium 61]

I use Sonar on a 3.2ghz p4 laptop in a small spare room. I dont have a dedicated control surface or a lot of room.

I wanted to ask people if they consider it particulary important to set up their keyboard to work as a conrtol surface for their sequencer [presuming one hasnt got a dedicated control surface]

Ive messed around with it since reading this tutorial:
http://www.cakewalk.com/Tips/TechTipMay02_1.asp

but still find that its just as easy to use my mouse and keyboard. I have set up the key bindings [shortcuts] to my liking.

Is there some point Im missing? I use the knobs etc to control parameters in my softsynths, but cant really get into using the keyboard to control sequencer transport, pan, track arming etc.

any thoughts would be appreciated.
