Your amp sim sounds really good. Could you give us any more details about it?

There is no amp sim on this only a bunch of very subtle FX's.mman wrote:Thank you AndrewSimon, I decided not to add this one to the list, or should I? Is this amp sim or something else?AndrewSimon wrote:OK this might not sound like any amp you know
but it sounds like MY DREAM AMP.

Consider it a "protest post" against the lack of fidelity of guitar amplifiers for "clean guitar" sounds.
Think of it as a simulation of a guitar player playing in a bar, going to some high quality stereo FX then into a PA system.

Hmmm, very hard to tell isn't it. I can't say which is the best, but at least I can say which ones I like more than others.AKJ wrote:so, finally, what's the trend, what sound do you prefer? maybe, let's make a poll?
In "like" category I would place:
AcBox,
Amplitube,
boogex,
cortex,
GRig
In "don't like" catagory:
Amplee,
TubeBaby
and the rest of them:
somewhere in the middle

Out of what I own I like in this order:
1. iZotope Trash (I put off getting this because I thought it was just a distortion plug-in but I was very suprised when it surpassed all my other amp effects.)
2. Native Instruments Guitar Combos (I love Fender amps and I love Twang!)
3. IK Multimedia AmpliTube (This was my first amp plug-in. I loved it when I first got it but I don't really use it anymore. Still good for bass guitar though.)
4. IK Multimedia T-RackS (You can get some good amp tones out of these.)

I was really impressed with the "revalver" amp sounds.
The AC-BOX sounded fairly real also,but...
Any example here that didn`t sound like it was close mic`d, no effects and no room sim didn`t cut it for me.
Some of the amp sim`s distortion sounds more like digital crackle then what it should sound like.
With the "revalver" sims,it gives me the feeling of being right up on the cab....that`s an amp simulation!

....................Don`t blame me for 'The Roots', I just live here.
