Now, i set up everything by the book, i can hear the input audio signal while recording, but when i insert an effect on both the input or channel strip i can't hear the effect.
anyone care for a hand?

Yes, sounds like ASIO direct monitoring is enabled. You can turn it off under "devices > configure devices" (or whatever it says in english, my SX is set to german), then head over to your soundcards entry and disable it in the menu of the card. Might look a bit different under SX2 (I only have SX3 installed ATM), but you'll find it.

Thats correct go to devices-vst multitrack and untick the box beside direct monitoring then press apply.
