Maybe a microphone into your pc... and push record?

Stage a concert. Start recording. Get on stage but don't play anything, just announce "quiet, please." You're golden.

Post

ya, its exactly those sounds after teh quiet, please part i'd like. chairs russling etc - all together in that concerty atmoshphere. I guess they wouldnt be too hard to make yourself and just convolve them in a large place. might be my task for the weekend.

Take a portable recorder into the waiting room of your local doctors office or accident and emergency dept of your local hospital.

Ask Bela D Media, there was a link somewhere, but it is a hidden one.

Go to a (insert washed-up commedian's name here) standup act.

I would recomend Joey Gladstone off of full house..
The following statement is true.
The previous statement is false.

Maybe I have some. Bela D's might be good but do they have 24 bit 96K coughs with 128 layers doing round robin with various amounts of flem? I don't think so! (neither do we though) Kirk Hunter might!

Post

I think surround might be essential as well. Phlegm all around...

I use a minidisk. It works and you get what you need. 24/96 is overkill on sound scapes but whatever turns your crank. Restaurants, Sports Bar, Church, School functions/enthuiseastic response.

Of course I was kidding about the 96K (we only do it in 192K! 32 bit! :D ). But, yeah, any recorder and going out there and grabbing it yourself can always be done.

I have all of the original orchestral recording sessions that Miroslav did so I might be able to pull a few noises off of that... same hall and everything if you wanted to make your Philharmonik sound LIVE and flawed like a real orchestral recording. I hear coughs on commercial releases all the time.

I got the Bela D Media samples, now does anyone know how I can convert them from 24 bit to 16 bit? A free program perhaps.. thanks :) Don't know which one to get. I have Db PowerAmp but it says I am missing a codec to be able to do that. Problem is, I don't know which one..
Play it by ear
