Just wondering, will it come with "Templates" that one can load and will have all the instruments in it's place? :)

If I want to sound like, e.g., U2, with a click of a preset/template, I would be able to load the drums, bass, guitar and keyboard sounds.

Just wondering...I remembered Squids once said that it's quite a "resource hog"...wonder if that would be why. :p

I'm looking forward to reading more about this product...always looking for quick and easy to set up a song.

Pure fantasy:

The secret about Studiophonik(StPh) is that Squids teamed up with Sven Bornemark (Chief creator of VG, GA and Broomstick Bass)

What is the result? StPh wil not only contain
- top notch sounds for guitar, keys, drums, bass
- top notch effect section
- top notch expression control

It will also contain a top notch pattern library to get you going instantly. Which actually is somehow like being the guitarist in the band or the bassist. The other musicians do it automatically, after some "instruction" about chord progersssion and beat. 8)

The pattern library will be like a "Plugin in Plungin Engine (PIPE)". This new PIPE technology is darn cool and expandable. Of course it'll go far beyond the limitations of it's predecessors, total control involves import features that are seamlessly integrated. MIDI pattern library browser, Import of MIDI files and automatic conversion to pattern library format, drag and drop MIDI patterns to and from you host sequencer, and so forth.
Let us all embrace the new PIPE technology, because it also opens up 3rd party development, which will increase the value of StudioPhonik even more.

Squids: Still got a free post for a Product Vision Engineer? :hihi:

P.S.: Just to avoid any misunderstandings, it was all my phantasy. I have no insider info about StudioPhonnik. This is just what I wish it would include.

You are not kidding...Ok, when will pre-order start for Studiophonik? I'm ready....

I have always wanted to get VG, GA and Broomstick...now, if this is what I think it will be, this will cover all three areas and more...I presume that it will have some sort of a drum library as well!

Here's a pre-pre order for Studiophonik, although there's no release date.

Squids can I make a feature request for Studiophonik?? I'm hoping we will be able to change the text colors on the GUI, because I can already tell it's gonna be hard for these old eyes to read it, if these are the standard colors.

Wow tele! That's quite an imagination! You're just coming out with crazy predictions left right and centre this week...

Seriously though, zai, there will be plenty of combi presets. Can't talk more about it at the moment though. Here, look at this obvious distraction.

Well, let's look at it not as predictions, but as visions. And SR would better make them come true. :) or somebody else will make the $ with it. :hihi:
One thing with that pattern library vision is that they would need to be separate, like there are different Expansion Tanks for strings, piano and drums there should be single pattern libraries for drums, bass, keys and so forth for the Studiophonik PIPE technology.
Next step will be to make the PIPE technology a standard interface for Sampletank. This will completely make ST2 a "something else and special" product and it will be very workstation-like for those who want to buy PIPE Expansions.

Plugin in Plugin Engine . PIPE, well PIPE. :)
You know, I'm not really a fan of BIAB, but I am a fan of Virtual Guitarist and Groove Agent and Broomstick Bass. PIPE should be something in that class, not a "write a complete tune for me" thing. Really, it's like having band members around, and in a real band, each member would (try to) contribute his special know how about his instrument to a song. Or would you think that Freddy Mercury did tell Brian May what to play? Maybe sometimes, but I suppose it usually would be an interaction. Freddy comes along with a melody and lyrics, maybe the piano part he's been playing and Brian would take this as an inspiration and create guitar stuff - that would accepted or not and changed or adapted as needed and so forth. That is what Groove Agent and Broomstick Bass are about. VG is a little off that road, because influencing the patterns is very limited – you can't edit the existing patterns to exactly fit your needs. I'd be willing to pay $100 just to get a VG update with that feature. MIDI output of what it's playing, so you could edit this.
Personally, I find it cool that I can focus more on making melodies and lyrics and PIPE would be a great tool.

Trust that if we do anything pattern/sequence based in the future that it would be one a whole new level. But, those things take time. Meanwhile, we are concentrated first on the sounds that musicians need and although you have to have some playing ability to use them this is what comes first. But, we think of lots of things that can be done and you never know what may be coming.

Meanwhile, back to Studiophonik and the original question... there will be some "band style" or "song flavor" presets for sure. You load it up and sound pretty close to U2 or Pink Floyd etc. That's because perhaps the right guitars and drums were loaded with processing already in place to the style of The Edge (lots of delays) or David Gilmour etc.

The recent news about potential for effect sends now for combis will make it less of a resource hog than before which is a nice step. We can thank the developers at IK Italy for finding a way to do that with the ST engine! (thank you!!!!!!!) Some of the new developers who have joined the team are really awesome and positive minded which I like. As sound developers we're always asking the "impossible" and yet it is so nice when we see our most needed/wanted features working! Miroslav Philharmonik for example is even better than we thought it would be. So will Studiophonik be as well. In fact, there are few more things I'd like to add...
