Hey guys. It's a little ironic for me to be doing this because I'm really not a huge fan of soft synths (mostly use my two analogs), but I'll give a nod to the ones that impress me, like Korg Legacy, AAS, and GMedia's stuff.
Here's one that's pretty affordable (95 Euros), and I think it deserves a looky see because it has really smooth filters, powerful sounding oscillators, and a good basic run of features:

Caveat: it's a CPU hog, but the sound quality is there, IMO.

Really, why? People hate it? I think it sounds nice, but I admit I don't even own any VSTi's except freeware. I mostly stick with analogs and GS3.jmh wrote:Prepare to be flamed...

So, why is it bad?

Not looking for synths myself, but I have to say - love the GUI.

It's not bad at all, quite the opposite. It's just that when it's discussed, loud voices of opposition are aired. Such is the nature of forums.Frippertronix wrote:Really, why? People hate it? That makes me feel better. I thought maybe I was just a bad judge of VSTi's.
It kind of leapt out at me with how round the sound is compared to so many thin and harsh (to my ears) VSTi's.
One pays for it in massive CPU drain, but maybe that's the trade-off they all have. Minimonsta is verging on unuseable if you want heavy poly.
I have and like their free EQ, though it is a synthy effect EQ, not a mix and master EQ, IMO.

This is one of the best VSTis I ever heared. And the GUI is one of the best I've ever seen. It blowes away even all the novadays available hardware sybthesizers! (Much better than Minimonsta too - because there is no interpolation noise on nWSynth).
Try also out their other plugins!
That are the best sounding (and looking) plugs I ever heared and seen. And they always sit so well in the mix! The filter is the best on the market so far.
And please don't flame me because my opinion.

Wow, I guess I didn't expect someone to be that excited about it, but I really think it's pretty good. (Was that a flame or not?)pustekuchen wrote:This is one of the best VSTis I ever heared. In fact, I've been liking combinging the NWEQ with Sonalksis EQ for more variations in tone.
Flames or no flames, everyone should check out the stuff from these Hungarian dudes! Really!
