We will be posting some new MP3 Demos of the drums very soon.
At the moment there are none up.
Sorry about that.

How well do the basses sit in the mix? Meaning, do they require eq or compression?

I have the hardest time making a bass guitar sit well in a mix...

Well, if you have problems with making the UBK sit well in the mix, I'd be more than happy in helping you out.

I made a bunch of songs using the UBK, and I found all I had to do is put some EQ to crank up the bass to account for the fact that they were recorded DI. If you want to get really fancy you could put them through an amp sim, or even put them through a real amp and mic that. :)

If you have a bass solo part, playing higher notes, try putting just a tiny bit of reverb. Not enough to become obvious, but just a pinch of reverb can make it sound really sweet.

Hey Greg, great job on the UBK set. Any possibility of passing on some midi files of different techniques realized with UBK?

Post

I have to say that I can't program worth a crap and I haven't done the manual yet....maybe that has some tips.

btw, I think that the vic stuff was part of the reason for my impulsive purchase.......he used to come into a restaurant I worked at in Nashville all the time.....actually.....all the wootens did.

Ya know his bass action is so low......it's unplayable? It's hillarious........

What a player though......a real musician.........nice guy too............

Yup, I was planning on releasing the MIDI files for the solo bass demos More Love and Mr. Pastorius. Also I plan on making some tutorials, too.

Yeah, Victor Wooten is an amazing guy. Started bass when he was 2 years old! Sounds like you were able to hear him play a lot, in his early days, too! Last time I saw him was a few months ago in San Francisco. He blew me away!

Check out his Victor Wooten: Live Bass Day 98 DVD and Bass Extremes (with Steve Bailey) DVD.

I have my bass action really low, too. Probably not as low as he has it (it takes a lot of work to get it very low and not buzz at the same time), but having your action makes slapping so much nicer.

Purchased 12 hours ago...still no link. But it is the weekend, and it says 24 hours. I'll be patient!

One thing that worrys me though: I've recieved several "fake" paypal sniffer mails telling me my account has been compromised and I need to reactivate. "Suspicious activity" as the email says. They look very legitimate, but looking at the properties you can see that it's been bulk mailed. Still, it's hard to tell a legit Paypal email from a bogus one.
However, it seems my payment went thru with no hassles. Hope it really went through! :scared:

I really despise Paypal.

You can tell for sure if you click the link and look at the address, if it doesn;t start with paypal its fake(usually numbers) I always forward the mail to paypal but I wonder if they can or do anything about it, considering how many fake ones I get.

You just want to be careful because sometimes they mask the url... the best way is just to go to the paypal website yourself and not follow email links.

Landphil, thanks for your patience, and it'll be sorted out. :)

Ah, uhm, this is sooo tempting. I have the Sonik Bass Capsule for SampleTank but the UBK sounds awesome.

But what to get. I have Wusikstation but wonder if it might be better to opt for the soundfont. What are good reasons for choosing the soundfont version? I am a bit worried about getting tied into the WS format at the moment.

Get both? Eventually I'll get around to buying the CD/DVD I think... But I need to get ns_kit7 working in sfz first. No more toys till that job's done...
