Maybe you don't understand. I'll try again.
Play a riff and bend a note and please listen. If thats too hard then play quite fast. This plug is not playing in real time. The output is delayed.
Only works if you play slowly.
Try sliding, slurring, harmonics etc. try anything one might do on strings. I find this too bad as I had said earlier the sound is quite good. 'Best pitchshifter'... hardly.

I think it is the best pitchshifter I've found for guitars. I've tried a stack, and they're all shite. I agree though, it could be better.

Seems to play in real time if you don't do any fancy stuff but if you play fast or bend or do hammer ons or do slides latency is introduced.
pvtransp on the other hand works in real time no matter what but it doesn't sound quite as realistic.
Still I am impressed with both programs.
I think if I can completely eliminate any background hiss and hum on my guitar (working on balanced AC transformers for the studio) I can get pvtransp to sound great.
I will post some examples soon.

The whole point of ChopPitch is that it's threshold driven.. so when the volume hits a level, it starts recording the input and, depending on your pitch-shift settings, plays back immediately at your chosen slower speed.
so it works perfectly on drums, and other percussive sounds, including plucked bass etc, but if you want to start bending notes and adding trills it is unlikely to behave as you expect, LoopHead
.. there is no latency to speak of, but if you change the sound without the hitting the threshold the changes will happen later than in realtime because the effect slows down a sampled bit of time.
If you wanna perfect representation of your guitar lick at a different pitch you're probably better off with an FFT based pitch-shifter - maybe Jackle&Hydes AudioPitch or OmniVox would do the job when they are released - but FFT processing ALWAYS introduces real latency, so it's a trade off between latency and the ability to pitch either way, or the threshold based, no-latency, only-down shifting of ChopPitch.

OK I have some noise.
I decided to concentrate on PVTRANSP and not ChopPitch because there are no restrictions on your playing style even though the sound is not as great as ChopPitch.
Pay attention to the sound changes when I switch berween pickups.
Ignor my piss poor playing
I realy suck here

more to come .... once I practice a little bit.

This sounds pretty promising. I've too tried a few pitch shifters (the TBT one is the nicest I think), but I'll have to try this based on your result.AndrewSimon wrote:OK I have some noise.

OK more BASS noise.
Again it's my electric guitar using PVTRANSP.
This time it's in a mix (kinda).
I used deep compression (-40dB) with very long release times (10 sec) to get these long sustain notes.
I think it's getting there.

Granted it's a great pitch shifter... When you pitch the guitar down to sound like a bass it sounds like a very poor bass guitar.
The main thing is that then you have to learn how to play like a bassist.
The nice thing is that when you switch your pickups the sound changes really dramatically, so you have a large palette of tones to choose from.
